1) He’s too expensive.
2) McVay already has enough WRs.
We were told VJ was the fastest player at the Senior Bowl and Atwell is supposed to be even faster.
McVay is supposed to be an offensive genius. An offensive genius would be able to use two very good and very fast receivers WHO ARE ALREADY ON THE ROSTER to fill in for a player he never should have brought in in the first place.

Re: DeSean Wants Out
I would suggest he would bump VJ to No. 4 if they were to pick him up, but I doubt it happens with the way the passing game is working. There really isn't a need, which is why you would make a move in the 1st place....NorCal RF wrote: ↑October 30th, 2021, 9:10 amWhy? So he can be the 4th receiver? He isn’t playing much with this teams top #3 still on roster.Rampager66 wrote: ↑October 29th, 2021, 9:04 pm Lets try and get Cooks back before GB does. They can’t afford Cooks and they don’t need him (aka WR is not a team need),
My gosh we can’t even find playing time for a prima donna free agent and our top draft pick.

Why as fans we would want VJ to be given less snaps is baffling. The kid is having a solid year and is only going to get better……….

We see the downside of trying to acquire every offensive toy on the market. There is only one ball to go around.

It would be a huge, HUGE mistake to use the freed up cap space on another wr. Need a big bodied defensive presence, or a DB.

I never understood signing a 34 year old wide receiver in the first place? The man is done as a top notch guy. Especially when he is forth on the depth chart.

Re: DeSean Wants Out
If they're both on the roster I'm going with Cookie but since they're not, Go VJ or whoever else is in the uni. I do get where you are coming from, from a development standpoint, what he's shown and what's already been invested in VJ to this point.NorCal RF wrote: ↑October 30th, 2021, 10:09 pmThere isn’t a need agree………Rampager66 wrote: ↑October 30th, 2021, 8:16 pm I would suggest he would bump VJ to No. 4 if they were to pick him up, but I doubt it happens with the way the passing game is working. I am having second thoughts on cutting Jackson if we don’t trade him. Why would we let him go to another playoff team…especially in the NFC. I would hate to see him go to GB. Not to mention he knows our playbook.

Re: DeSean Wants Out
I say keep his ass, despite the request, for these reasons:
1) Added depth to an outstanding WR corp for the RAMs!
2) Trade to who? The only ones interested in him are teams that are contending, we should not improve our potential opponent. DeShawn Jackson is that good, he could make us regret the trade.
3) Jackson will thanks us at the end of the season, when we win the Super Bowl!

Re: DeSean Wants Out
I’m guessing everyone is waiting for us to cut him. I’ve already read that if he isn’t traded then he’s going to be cut. If that’s the case, why would any team want to give up anything to get him. He’s going to cry anywhere he plays if he doesn’t get the ball enough.

Re: DeSean Wants Out
Tough situation. I don’t want him to poison the locker room but I also don’t want him helping a contender. Also, he will be good to have if we have any injuries.
Why does he have to me such a “ME” person. I hate that attitude.

He can't help it. These type of guys are in every sport and they are good with it being about the team as long as people don't forget that team has a "m" and "e" in it.

Re: DeSean Wants Out
Calvin Ridley is going to miss a few weeks or more due to emotional stress.
Trade D Jack to atl for Patterson.
Kick off and punt returner, and a guy who can run deep routes or run the ball

Re: DeSean Wants Out
Performance based contracts aren't the easiest to trade. If he makes a target do the Rams pay part of the bonus? I would expect any team taking him to pay everything other than salary already earned but it'll be for a nothing pick in 2024 + a very low performance based pick. Then again I don't see who would want him in Week 9. Maybe a team with cap to burn?

4) Tutu Atwell is out for shoulder surgery, have Jackson return punts?!!! Problem solved! He can catch well and still has speed!!!Fearsome Foursome wrote: ↑November 1st, 2021, 4:29 pm I say keep his ass, despite the request, for these reasons:

Desean was the punt returner vs the Lions, he still wanted a trade days after.Fearsome Foursome wrote: ↑November 1st, 2021, 6:19 pm4) Tutu Atwell is out for shoulder surgery, have Jackson return punts?!!! Keep De Shawn Jackson:
1) add depth to WRs
2) don't trade to competitor in playoffs
3) use as punt and kick returns
4) he will thank us after we win super bowl w a ring of his own

Re: DeSean Wants Out
Why would we want to keep a 34 year old who has contributed hardly nothing, who is complaining, and doesn’t want to be here?
McVay from day one has been team period. You have someone like Woods who from day one could care less about himself and his stats. Just wants to win. You don’t cater to DJAX period. Hit the road!

Re: DeSean Wants Out
I wouldn't force him to stay bc I wouldn't want the issues in the locker room. I'm just hoping D Jack think this through and realize what he is risking losing out on and can work this out with Mcvay.NorCal RF wrote: ↑November 1st, 2021, 8:15 pmWhy would we want to keep a 34 year old who has contributed hardly nothing, who is complaining, and doesn’t want to be here?

Re: DeSean Wants Out
Desean doesn't understand who he is and what his role should be. He was brought here to stretch the field. Make a couple of big plays. How did he not know that? He simply cannot be relied on to be anything more than that. He is still fast but an injury waiting to happen. He just can't be that guy that you throw to 90 times anymore. He should just have fun and stay healthy. Stay happy and maybe make a big catch in the playoffs or super bowl.Cornell29 wrote: ↑November 1st, 2021, 9:02 pmI wouldn't force him to stay bc I wouldn't want the issues in the locker room. When he was getting more snaps he quickly got injured the last couple of years. Rams limit his snaps, to keep him fresh all year and now he is upset he isnt getting enough snaps.
