December 19th, 2025, 6:08 pm Re: The Abysmal Failure of Rams Special Teams Coach Chase Blackburn: Time for Sean McVay to Act December 19th, 2025, 6:08 pm Re: The Abysmal Failure of Rams Special Teams Coach Chase Blackburn: Time for Sean McVay to Act
The Los Angeles Rams entered the 2025 season with high expectations, boasting one of the NFL’s most explosive offenses led by Matthew Stafford, Puka Nacua, and a revitalized running game. As of today, the team sits at 11-4, positioned for a strong playoff run in the NFC West. Yet, beneath this success lies a glaring weakness that has undermined multiple games: the special teams unit under coordinator Chase Blackburn.
Consistent underperformance, costly mistakes, and a lack of accountability have marked Blackburn’s tenure. Special teams issues have directly contributed to all four of the Rams’ losses this season, turning winnable games into heartbreaking defeats. Despite this, head coach Sean McVay has retained Blackburn, raising questions about loyalty versus results in a league where production is paramount.

Last night's loss was not due to Blackburn. Look to the Leader. Hopefully Mcvay took blame for loss. Because the loss is on him. Please don't retort that Mcvays great..... Last nights melt down is on the Leader. No I don't want another coach.
You are correct. It is McVay’s job to hire the best candidates available. Chase Blackburn is horrible, no doubt about that, but ultimately it is McVay’s decision to keep him staff. - 1 Been thanked

October 7th, 2025, 9:39 am Please McVay! Start Dolac! October 7th, 2025, 9:39 am Please McVay! Start Dolac!
The ILB position is as much about ''read and react" and "football instinct/acumen" as it is athleticism, maybe even more so. Undersized guys like London Fletcher( who the Rams NEVER should have let go), Sam Mills and recently Matt Milano have thrived in the NFL. Shaun Dolac has this ability based on his stellar college career, and pre-season and special teams performance. He has already beat out draft pick, Pooh Paul. Speights' injury is a unique opportunity to give this kid a chance. We all know what Troy Reeder is, and that is NOT a starting caliber NFL ILB. Save Reeder for special teams, where he is sorely needed. Start Dolac and there is a good chance that the Rams will have unlocked a keeper who will help the defense NOW. - 1 Been thanked

April 21st, 2025, 11:40 am Re: Will Rams solve OT - TE - CB - LB early on ? April 21st, 2025, 11:40 am Re: Will Rams solve OT - TE - CB - LB early on ?
I think they will continue to use the BPA philosophy and whoever is on top of their board no matter the position they will take.
I’ll say it again this^
Solved? I don't think Sneed or McVay thinks there is a pressing need to “solve a problem” at OT or TE for 2025. I emphasize 2025. The starting OL returns as well as there are 3 TE on roster.
If I'm the Rams, I'm pretty concerned about the LT spot. These guys never seem to stay healthy for 17 games. We need depth there. This will have to be addressed IMO unless I am missing something. It's mot McClendon at LT. Or Arcuri. - 1 Been thanked

Thanks for stopping and giving us such good insight. Many years ago, I lived in Baltimore. We are talking decades ago.
Back when they were the Colts.
The game where the airplane crashed into the stadium.
It was the Colts vs the Steelers and the Colts QB was Bert Jones.
Now, this reveals how old I am.
Lived on Fleet Street… not the best part of town-
😂
The image of that plane epitomizes our season.
Fleet St. is a lot safer now, and naturally less affordable. - 1 Been thanked

April 25th, 2025, 11:47 am Re: Reaction to Trade. April 25th, 2025, 11:47 am Re: Reaction to Trade.
Do you honestly feel the Falcons first round pick next year will be as low as 26?
I think #20 worst case. They have a good chance of winning the division. Saints don't have a QB. Carolina is questionable, Tampa is their primary challenger. 10 of this year opponents where under .500 last year. They play 4 tough games...Rams, Buffalo, Washington and SF. (3 of the 4 are home games.) They were good enough to beat Philly in Philly last year so they have potential.
They have potential but Penix is a totally unproven. He looks good in practice doesn’t mean anything and if he struggles, so will the team. Division isn’t good. I agree. Tho Carolina will be better and Tampa is solid. - 1 Been thanked

If Niners win tonight, Rams drop to 6th spot on seeding.
Which just like last season, we’ll be heading to Phly. Snow game potential
Gosh damn it. So sick of this crap.
Yes. But Rams win out they won’t finish lower than 5. The loser of Sea/SF would finish 6. It’s conceivable a 13-4 team finishes 6 (that would be Seattle). Rams could even go 1-1 and finish 5 if SF rests guys week 18 after losing 1 of next 2 (SF would out of division race). - 1 Been thanked

On the surface it looks terrible. You had various plug n play starters at high value positions like CB and even OT and you take a 3rd tight end. Just bad value here given what the team needs.
it is fucking terrible because they don't target the tight end that much anyway, so now you have a third tight end trying to get targets in 11 personnel sets, and we pass up plug and play three down starters for that??? Bowers is lucky Mcvay didn't trade up for him last year , he targets the TE three or four times a game. - 1 Been thanked

Basically if an NFC team is ever playing an AFC team, we want the AFC team to win. In addition, we need the teams in the NFC with the same records or better records than us to lose. If in doubt, always pull agains the 49ers. :-)

May 15th, 2025, 3:33 pm Re: Shocking stat if true May 15th, 2025, 3:33 pm Re: Shocking stat if true
Not really a shock to me. I'll be honest here, it's past time to move on from LeBron, and to be perfectly honest, I'd put Doncic up for sale as well. To me, he doesn't have that mindset. He can put of numbers, on talent alone, but he isn't willing to put in the effort to be *that* guy.
Someone will pay a premium for him though, because of his age. 1 star, 2 other good to very good players, 3-4 1st rounders and sold to the highest bidder. Couple with the money savings on the cap from not having to pay Bron and Doncic, and that's money to play with in FA as well.
Moving on from Bron also rids us of the useless pick that was Bron Jr., doesn't save shit moneywise but frees up a roster space
Might not make us an immediate contender, but certainly accelerates the rebuild.
hope he leaves too....dude is such a bitch - 1 Been thanked

I aint a homer and never will be. Play like shit, you'll get criticized. Play good football, you'll get praise. Still, too many mistakes. We need to start having a killer instinct and stop playing it safe. Start going for the kill. Stop being a pussy and taking your foot off the gas if you're winning. We can do it. We have the talent. "Some". I've been the biggest cheerleader this season outside the Niners game. They played like shit and got mollywhopped.
That killer instinct is going for it on 4th and 3 when we were up by 14 but people criticised that play. I'm glad they went for it because Balt could do nothing on offense. - 1 Been thanked

On another note about this draft - I notice people ranting about the Rams not drafting a CB this year.
Well, my thought on that is that we drafted a pretty good pass rusher in Stewart. A more intense pass rush means the secondary gets help right there.
Plus, Rams I believe want a solid Vet to lead at CB is why we didn’t draft one. - 1 Been thanked

When you don't kick a field goal in the third quarter INSIDE THE 10 YARD LINE that would put you up by three scores...well it says all you need to know.
However, I am convinced that McVay is bad for kickers in general. Where other coaches see their kickers as an asset, I think he inherently sees them as a liability and that HAS to rub off on the psyche of those guys. - 1 Been thanked

Well, one of the relatively few decisions made by Jeff Fisher which I agree with was his willingness to stick with 'Greg the Leg' Zuerlein as our team's placekicker ten years ago, when the guy's lackluster performance cost the Rams at least two games, as he only hit on just over 62% of his FG attempts.
During the next season (2016), even though the Good Guys played poorly and eventually got Fisher fired as their head coach, Zuerlein rebounded to hit on just over 83% of his FG attempts (providing the only scoring for our team in two victories), then the following Rams comeback year he was All-Pro via hitting on 95% (38 out of 40) of them.
So I'm hoping that Joshua Karty can bounce back just as Zuerlein did, except obviously much sooner, like on Sunday in London...  :!:

October 16th, 2025, 6:12 pm Re: if we don't play Ferguson???? October 16th, 2025, 6:12 pm Re: if we don't play Ferguson????
why do we draft him in the second round so he can be the fourth string tight end??
The Cardinals drafted Will Johnson a big cornerback 6'2 202 out of Michigan who is their starter with a PFF grade of 80, right after we picked Fergie
It's not like we're targeting the tight ends a lot even when Ferguson's not on the field

May 10th, 2025, 7:27 pm Re: Poll Question - All Time Top Five Ram RB’s May 10th, 2025, 7:27 pm Re: Poll Question - All Time Top Five Ram RB’s
1: Marshall Faulk... He and Roger Craig were the precursor to what is and should be considered the ideal NFL running back.. What puts Faulk over the top for me was his absolute blitz pickup and then his WR like route running. Many considered him a coach on the field.
2: Steven Jackson... IMO this is the ideal Sean McVay running back.. Big, Beast mode kind of power... yet fast. Most of all pure heart and effort. He too was good as Receiver.
3: Eric Dickerson... Big, extremely fast. Of course the records... Fumbling and attitude put him here IMO
4: Jerome Bettis.. Short time.. but we all know what he was.. Rams bailed on him not the other way around.
5: Todd Gurley... was what Steven Jackson would have been in this McVay offense... That damn knee... Jackson was even more physical though.. And again, Jackson had more heart.

We don't throw to the damn RBs because our O-line is trash and they gotta stay in to block! We've had zero depth on the line forever. The second a starter goes down (which ALWAYS happens), it's a total disaster.
Brazil I was about to say same thing. The RBs are blocking due to porous o line. Hard to develop a screen or release pass to RB when you are blocking. - 1 Been thanked

Exactly. At 50 mil price tag for a starter, you need those 3-4 years of rookie contract, and remember, if hes taken in the first rd you have one more year than if drafted in rd 2.
The only reason I would not go QB in rd 1 is if they are 100% sure that Stetson can be the guy. Otherwise, they're missing an opportunity if they chose to get cute and hope they can address it a year later. Get him while you have the picks!!
Agreed! Our team isn't likely to once more have an extra first-round choice to trade up, say into the Top Ten overall in the 2026 NFL draft, any time in the near future.
Of course, there does have be an available rookie QB prospect which the Rams organization considers to be worth a pick that high... :) :!:
