Wow! How did this topic on the Rams defense turn in to a 3rd grade "i know you are, but what am i" debate?

To touch back on the OP topic. I for one think the D ranking is a little delusional. Sure, they are "ranked" a top 10, but i think a lot of that can be credited to the offense and their time of possession dominance making the D look better than it truly is. All you have to do is watch the games. Its why the Rams cannot put teams away. If the opposition gets down, and needs a score, they do so. Chunk by chunk. Then the Rams, comfortable with the big lead, become passive on offense, punt, and the rinse and repeat.

I dont see a mean physical defense who can get the stop when they need it. A good example is with 3 mins left in the first half, Seattle 3rd and 16 run a draw play to kill the clock and gain 17 yards. Frustrating.

That's fair....but name one defense in the NFL that does?

All I'm saying is other than Houston. There are no elite defenses and the Rams have one of the better units despite the lack of respect they get.

Unfortunately, posters here like SoCalRam78 for example turn threads into garbage because he for one he isn't smart enough to debate. It also comes back to our previous back and forth where he ends up wrong on all his takes. So now he does this

Rams are averaging 19.9 ppg allowed

The Eagles are 3rd at 19.3

The Rams are half a point from having the 3rd best defense in points allowed. The only team going above and beyond is Houston. So back to the point of the thread. The Rams have a good D. Some dont agree....fine! Never had issues with differing opinions. I just wanted to hear who thinks who is better and why? If anyone wants to talk REAL football? Well fuck yeah let's do it!

Back on topic! Now all my friends should be happy now

The D is struggling a bit atm. Let Carolina run all over us and 2 deep TD passes. Seattle scored 38. And lots in the 4th when Shula needs to batten it down and close out the game. Those 2nd half adjustments vs Detroit showed how good we can play. But it's been inconsistent to say the least. Hope they find their mojo. We need it big time. Stafford is putting up insane numbers. Cannot lose these shootouts. A shootout implies your defenses both stink- so there's that.

The defense is part of the reason we have the success in the running game that we do. Blitzing on every play aint gonna work. All we need are DBs and we'll be fine.
