We were Robbed
Rule: "you can advance a fumble, but NFL rules restrict advancement by teammates (other than the fumbler) on 4th down, after the two-minute warning, and on Try plays (extra points/2-point conversions); in these specific situations, the ball is dead if recovered by a teammate, returning play to the spot of the fumble unless recovered behind it."

It was a backwards pass...in that event, that rule doesn't countDVA_ram33 wrote: ↑December 19th, 2025, 4:43 am Rule: "you can advance a fumble, but NFL rules restrict advancement by teammates (other than the fumbler) on 4th down, after the two-minute warning, and on Try plays (extra points/2-point conversions); in these specific situations, the ball is dead if recovered by a teammate, returning play to the spot of the fumble unless recovered behind it."

Re: We were Robbed
Backward Pass vs. Fumble Distinction:
A backward pass that touches the ground is still a backward pass, not a fumble, and can be recovered and advanced by anyone (like the Stanford-Cal "The Play" or recent NFL examples).
That call was a gift. And not sure if and when the whistle blows- because nobody was moving with any urgency.

Re: We were Robbed
It was a bullshit fluke play for them. The illegal man downfield from the one yard line was too. Cost us 4 points.
Seattle got lucky yesterday. Let them have today. I want tomorrow.

Re: We were Robbed
The advancement rule on a 2pt conversion is the one that gets me on this.
Clearly McVay and even Stafford wanted to look at it again.
But SoCal you are right, its not going to change anything.. the NFL got what they wanted !!

Re: We were Robbed
Lineman downfield was bs too. That call alone cost us. But then the lateral call. C'mon. If we picked it up and ran it back for 2, it would be an incomplete pass.

Re: We were Robbed
I disagree with the initial call. It wasn't a backwards pass how can one tell. Verse hit the ball too hard to tell he was on the line too hard to tell. Also the whistle blew the play dead before the guy picked up the ball.

Re: We were Robbed
If they blew the whistle (not sure they did), then the play has to stand. You can't do that to the players and have them stop, only to bend down slowly and "score" the conversion? We need to review this with audio. But my guess is the whistle didn't blow.

Robbed or not…. We shouldn’t even had allowed it to come to this point in the game.

Re: We were Robbed
There are numerous recordings with a clear whistle, but, yes, this game should have been over with the Turner interception. Unfortunately, the offense went soft with a fast 3-and-out instead of getting even one first down and eating up some clock. Then special teams went soft. Then the defense went soft…

Re: We were Robbed
Whistle did in fact blow once the ball hit the ground, almost two seconds before Charbonnet picked it up. Everyone heard it, everyone stopped playing, everyone was lining up for the kick.
Apparently, there is a fumble rule where the play is allowed to continue even after the whistle. The rule is written to clarify possession of the ball after a whistle, while a dog pile scrum is still going on for the ball and refs are blowing their whistles to end the play. In the "immediate" action after the whistle, the ball can still be fought for and possession gained.
The interpretation was that the pass was a lateral, so when it hit the ground it was a fumble. If whistles are blowing, however, is Charbonnet picking up the ball two seconds later considered "immediate," or is the play dead? They ruled the former. Even if it's by the letter of the law, it still goes against everyone's basic understanding of how the game is played. Utter BS.

Re: We were Robbed
Games over we lost
There’s two to go plus at least a playoff game
That’s where to look not in the rear view
The Los Angeles Rams are a top 5 team at least in the NFL at this time
They can beat anybody in the league
And they could lose to anybody in the league

Re: We were Robbed
Robbed ? Maybe . Choked ? Certainly . Is there any chance the Rams staff/ FO can address the pitiful hole they have in failing to close games and address the Personnel coaching issues ? I do not think this FO possesses the ability or will to do so as it continues to happen over and over again.

Nothing to do w robbed. We literally GAVE Seattle everything they needed from us to win. Seattle even tried to lose the game, w all those turnovers...
Rams were the ones who robbed THEMSELVES more like it.
I also agree Ron on the FO office having to get involved at this point. I mean, Kronk had to look at Snead last night in the box and ask something like this...
Kronk: "Les, what is the hell is with this ST unit? This is the 3rd loss we have taken mainly because of this unit... Why does this keep happening"
Les "I dont know sir, there is no excuse for this"
Kronk "Ok Les, then let's fix this because I do not want to see us knocked out of the playoffs over this horrid ST unit. This just simply cannot happen. This was our game to win, yet we just sat there w our Di#k in our hand in the 4th qtr. We have to finish games AND PLAY TILL WE HEAR THE WHISTLE".

Re: We were Robbed
It doesn’t seem like McVay really answers to anyone within the organization? That’s a problem. It’s the same with his coaching staff. Blackburn is the worst ST coordinator over the last couple of years and he continues to run with his old roommate. Also, doesn’t seem to hire established coaches with more knowledge than him because he has to be the smartest person in the room.

Re: We were Robbed
OK- just last Sunday we came out of the half and closed the door on the Lions. We closed out a bunch of games this year surprisingly, because usually they all give me baby heart attacks like last night. Not sure what change you want here- unless you mean fire Blackburn. Shoulda happened long ago. But other than that, I like our coaches, players, and team. You win some, you lose some. It all happened so fast. No offense, no defense, no ST play. Game tied. until then we had phenom stats on offense at least.RonMac wrote: ↑December 19th, 2025, 10:20 am Robbed ? Maybe . Choked ? Certainly . Avoid the punt return TD and this play never happens. Special teams lost this game. Punt return TD gave a quiet stadium and downtrodden Seachickens new life. Momentum reversed 180 degrees on that play. Special teams cost the Rams this game and the Philly game. Rams should be 13-2. Special teams is killing this team.

Re: We were Robbed
Seattle gifted the Rams 3 turnovers.
If you are +3 in turnovers and still lose, it’s thru 100% your own fault.
Don’t wanna hear about ref bitching. The Rams have gotten the most favorable whistle in the league thru having their fewest penalties till last night.
Blaming the refs when you blow a 30-14 lead is lame. I sure hope the team doesn’t have that attitude

Re: We were Robbed
Agreed. Also a big play that overlooked was with about 2:10 to go in the 1st half, the Seahawks had a 3rd and 16 and ran a draw where the back got the first down. That play prevented the Rams from getting the ball back with plenty of time to score. Now Kupp fumbled later in that possession so Seattle didn’t score but I thought it really swung momentum. If Rams had gotten the ball back up 13-7 and put maybe another FG on the board before half all the sudden you are up 2 possessions and really dominating the game. That draw play turned the game at that pointJack85Youngblood wrote: ↑December 19th, 2025, 10:58 am Avoid the punt return TD and this play never happens. Special teams lost this game. Re: We were Robbed
Hags Walker, who is the RB Truth is referring to above, his 55 yd TD run on the 3rd play of the 2nd half sure robbed us too huh?
They weren't in prevent then. Hags did the same thing on their 1st possession of the game, scored fast and with ease.
And then there was how the D looked in the 4th and OT. Wasn't just ST's, but they were the biggest culprit as to MO and field position.
Between them, they let the Hags score twice as many points as they did in the 1st meeting.

Re: We were Robbed
The 3rd and 16 play was huge in the game - awful tackling there set up everything that followed. No question an enormous game changing sequence. Ebb and Flow in every game - handling it properly lies , in large part , to how the HC handles his team. The Rams, under McVay , do not secure games as well as they should. Guess we can call it finishing the dea.

Call a whambulance. The refs enforced the rule. Crazy but…
Kick the 48 yard FG and there’s nothing to complain about.

Re: We were Robbed
I do not understand the 2 pt to ti4e it at 30. 1. That did NOT look like backward pass. 2. it was tipped. you can see the trajectory change, I think it may have been Verse. 3. it was then caught/dropped by a DB. From my interpretation of what I saw, should have been an incomplete pass, play over

Re: We were Robbed
There's a vid about that play taken from the Seattle End Zone that shows Darnald's feet inside the Ram 10 when he releases it and his pass to Charbonnet hits him at the 10 1/2- 11 yard line and deflects/bounces off him toward the Rams end zone. it looks like a backward pass to me.GoldenRam wrote: ↑December 20th, 2025, 4:34 pm I do not understand the 2 pt to ti4e it at 30. 1. Re: We were Robbed
I have to agree with Puka. That ref was giddy with anticipation to announce that two point call, knowing the home fans would go apeshit.
At worst, there’s a cheating scandal. At best, the refs are attention whores wanting to insert themselves into games and in this case, it affected the outcome of an entire division.

I just cant get my head around how a pass is not a pass. And how a fumble is not a fumble. And how forward progression is not forward progression.
