Puka Concerns
I love Puka- he's the best WR we've ever had. Better than Kupp, and I LOVE Cooper K. One of my all time fav Rams. Just reading some of the RamsWire, and he is coming across like sort of a di%$. Is anyone else concerned at all that there's a hint of "me" not we? I may be reading into this too much. But his streaming stuff despite pushback from the team- and the coach. Now just saying officials are all terrible and do it for the spotlight....I don't know- there's abetter way to say it. And it may blowback somehow on the field. Just not the kind of headlines you would every hear from the Cooper Kupp camp. Any thoughts? These are adults, so who cares?

Yep..I raised this before after seeing an interview and was knocked back..
If he doesn't reign it in, his career may not last long !
On the other hand, if he keeps producing then I'll gladly turn a bling eye

Yes-well not yet. He's on his way. Bruce is my fav jersey. Puka is doing some mind blowing stuff out there. Just hope he keeps it up, and stays in a Ram uni.

I hope he gets fined. Then maybe he grows up and becomes a real leader. There are plenty of real leaders on the team for him to learn from, if he'd just pay attention.

Re: Puka Concerns
Ike was putting up Puka like #'s pre GSOT years.. We'll see if Puka plays for a bottom feeder for 8 years and produces like IKE did with the likes of TJ Rubley, Jamie Martin, Chris Miller, Steve Walsh and Tony Banks throwing to him. Puka's always had Stafford.

No he wouldn’t. He’s a much more complete WR than either Bruce or Holt. Those guys have counting stats and Nacua isn’t there yet. Both were allergic to blocking.

Re: Puka Concerns
You're wrong.. All the Rams WR's in those days could be seen blocking downfield for each other and Marshall. It's why they made the Pro Bowl Often. We had lots of long TD RUNS back then, something we don't see much of with the current RB Room.SoCalRam78 wrote: ↑December 17th, 2025, 12:43 pmNo he wouldn’t. Something downfield blocking always affects... hmmm
When Ike joined the 9ers for the last couple years of his career, Jerry Rice, who's SF Jersey no.80 was retired, offered to let Ike wear it as a 9er. Bruce, most likely out of respect for Rice, declined the offer and wore 88. And we never saw Bruce crying to the fans about the refs!

Re: Puka Concerns
Beg to differ. Neither of those guys did as much. Now Bruce was a better route runner. Rams running game is elite now without a Faulk level talent and Puka is a consensus top blocking WR in football.Rampager66 wrote: ↑December 17th, 2025, 1:03 pmYou're wrong.. Re: Puka Concerns
He seems to have great rapport with his team mates. I just hope he can play at this level for many seasons but the way he takes on hits reminds me of Kupp and look what it did to him.
I love what I have seen of him. At the very least, his genuine and positive.

Dont care what he did or what he said. Not my problem. Not losing sleep over it. He spoke the truth, people cant handle it. They never can handle a bit of honesty. If the refs do some bs tonorrow, he's proving the world right. So the NFLs only choice is doing nothing.

We'll have to agree to disagree on the blocking thing. Where did you get this Consensus on Puka from.SoCalRam78 wrote: ↑December 17th, 2025, 1:09 pmBeg to differ. Neither of those guys did as much. I don't know of a blocking stat that exists for WR's back then or now. Here's Steven Jackson on Ike! You'll have to click on "watch on YT"

Re: Puka Concerns
Keyshawn Johnson used to make fun of our WRs for not blocking or going over the middle. There’s a little revisionist history here. Nacua is way more physical. It’s not even close. But I’ll leave it at that. Love all 3.Rampager66 wrote: ↑December 17th, 2025, 1:30 pmWe'll have to agree to disagree on the blocking thing. Re: Puka Concerns
Let's not forget, Puka is still a kid.
Grew up in lower income family in Utah. Then not even 22 years at, gets drafted to LOS ANGELES (about the farthest thing from Utah you can imagine). Joins one of the best teams in the league w a future HOF QB AND Coach ... and has millions of dollars to show for it.
Let's cut him some slack. He is just young. Great heart... plus, I dont care really if hes being a dick, Def not a me type kid... immature, sure maybe a little bit.. but the way hes playing, I dont care what hes doing as long as he can back it up.
MUCH worse dudes in the NFL... This dude is our Diamond in the Rough.

Re: Puka Concerns
I have only one issue with Puka and it has nothing to do with him. It has to do with McVay...
How many times are we going to see him limp towards the sidelines after McVay runs him on the jet sweep? On both his runs against the Lions he got up with a slight limp. When McVay ran it the second time I was livid. Someone on staff needs to put together a short film for McVay that highlights Puka's 8 rushes this year and point out to him how you can tell he's getting dinged up and ask McVay if calling that play with Puka is worth getting him injured. I know my answer would be a resounding NO!

Judge our new coach in his third year. After all our last coach was to game strategy what Yoko Ono was to the Beatles...

Re: Puka Concerns
Reports were he was cramping. Puka isn't even on the injury report. Whether you hand it off to Puka or throw him a pass, he always physical when he gets the ball in his hands and a risk to getting hurt. When is Puka not physical? I guess Mcvay can tell him to slide down like Holt and Bruce use to do. Other than that, that's what make Puka, Puka. You heard Tom Brady talk about how hard he is to bring down. Even Gronk pointed it out, how Puka reminds him of himself. They are always physical and tough to bring down.crazy-legs wrote: ↑December 17th, 2025, 5:06 pm I have only one issue with Puka and it has nothing to do with him. It has to do with McVay...

Re: Puka Concerns
I'd prefer he just play and shut his yap .. but that does not appear to be the way modern players run. They seem to think that what they say will change what happens on the field. It may, but not likely in HIS favor. Why it's best to just let your play do the talking. However, he's an emotional player, you see that a lot in his posturing after tough plays. At this point, if the staff, re: McV/Snead have no problem with it .. then I defer to their judgement

Re: Puka Concerns
I was less concerned about the ref comments...that just shows his youth and he could have said it better. But yeah- the refs do suck. I was more taken by his bs with the streaming duo and how his teammates didn't want them in the locker room. And then McVay finds out and drops the hammer. It's prob nothing, but I don't want him to let his success turn him into a selfish player. I still think (hope) his teammates love him and that locker room is tight. With McVay there, I trust it is.

I’m not sure Puka is the one we need go worry about in the Nacua family ….

Re: Puka Concerns
Samson Nacua was arrested and released without being charged because there wasn't enough evidence to press charges. Sounds like a prank that went a little too far.
ETA: It seems ESPN is making a concerted effort to bring Puka down. Rams PR needs to get a hold of him before real damage is done.

All the sudden...there's a lot of bad press blowing his way. Def a concerted effort to bring in some hate. It's also just news trying to create headlines. Either way...NONE of it is good. Hope he reigns it in.

Re: Puka Concerns
You can’t say what he did in the manner that he did towards league officials sorry. He is a professional athlete in the NFL, one of the best at his job, and his age should not be an excuse for him IMO. Your team is 11-3, the talk of the league, going into its biggest game of the year on a short week and you decide to pull a dumbass “me” move while thinking through your ass. Sorry he has to be better than that. A hell of a lot better………..DelMar wrote: ↑December 17th, 2025, 4:57 pm Let's not forget, Puka is still a kid.

He needs to reign his ass in IMO. If you watch after the game last Sunday you see Ram players walking across the field finding Lion’s players and doing what players do after a game while he is running around pounding his chest…………….
