HAVE TO WIN Thursday ngt

Post by DelMar »

Bottomline. Will set up everything else w a win. We are better than Seattle. But do the Rams team know this? They better.

If we don’t win Thursday ngt, UGH… my guess is then we end up in wildcard spot and move way down and have to be on the road in playoffs… maybe even to Phly and GB… we won’t want this… so it’s just so damn important we handle business Thursday ngt.

Agreed

Thursday night is for the important 1st round bye and home field throughout the playoffs (unless the Rams are playing Philly, Green Bay, or Niners).

We obviously need to win every week but this I think is a playoff caliber game. We lose and have a big path change in road to Super Bowl

What is the injury report from today's game? Adams? Puca? Stafford took some shots. Plus short week

The only way the Rams fall behind either GB/Philly is if they lost to either ATL/AZ. So I don’t even think that’s a consideration.

But if the Rams lose to Seattle then very likely they won’t get HFA. It’d either be Seattle getting it outright or SF winning the TB if they beat Seattle the last week of the season.

I think for confidence purposes it’s important for the Rams to win this game. If they lose then Seattle would have a ton of confidence since they really dominated the 1st game aside from some horrific QB play. And you don’t want play at Seattle in the playoffs. That’s the best HFA in football

Seattle looked like s--- today; we can beat them silly.

Time for TuTu to earn his $10 million. We clearly made some effective Defensive adjustments in the 2nd half; will need to rewatch the game to determine what the hell we did.

Time for this Rams team to suck it up and be ready to rock on Thursday night.

Gotta take a very CLOSE look in the type of defense ( scheme ) colts used today to slow down seattle's offense . Just replicate that and see what happens . First time we met Darnold threw 4 picks , I have a hard time believing this will happen again .

LOL...some have been saying "must win" since week 1

Yes, I think it is an important game and makes the Rams road much more desirable....but must win? Nope

IMO a must win game means lose and you are out of the playoff picture....the Rams lose Thursday night they are still in the playoffs as they have already secured a spot if I'm not mistaking.

IMO saying this is a must win game is like saying my Chili Cheese Dog must have onions...no it doesn't, that CCD is damn good and the onions just make it that much better.

Its a "must win" if you want to be NFC West champs and HFA.

I will leave it to Shula- but it seems to me they need to just be super aggressive getting pressure on guys like Goff/Darnold. They will pick us apart with their WR group if they are sitting happy in the pocket. We don't do coverage sacks. Cannot let those speedy guys down field.

Offense is next man up for Adams. Tutu can run wild. I'm worried about Puka and his health. With Adams out, Stafford could target him all day. Obviously running the ball would be ideal, and we been doing it all year. Love that tandem.

Hags Defense 7th vs the Pass, 3rd vs the Run, 2nd fewest PPG allowed.

We won't be running it or passing it or scoring as freely or successfully as we were the last 2 weeks..
2 games combined, 1049 total yards, 641 pass yards, 408 rush yards, 86 points... 11 TD's, 3 FG's

AFAIC, we'll need our D to contribute like they did last time, with 4 INT's.... and have to grind out a W in a low scoring affair..

It isn't a must win but not having g to travel and deal with the weather is a big concern for playoffs. Fyi only half the 1st seeds make it to the SB but clearly 1 less game helps.

Detroit was a must win and we won. Seattle is a must win to improve our odds imo to the SB. If we lose getting the 5th seed wis crucial bc we get TB most likely in Tampa and I would think we will win that.

Regarding this upcoming Seattle game with Devante out I would change up the game plan and slow down the game. Double JSN and force the others to best us.

I think if Rams win Thursday they could conceivably lose to Atlanta and still finish 1 seed with a win over Arizona. Would put them 13-4 and 5-1 in division.

If they lose they would need a lot of help. But it wouldn’t over. SF and Seattle are done playing shitty teams which they seem to have done for weeks now.

SF: @ Indy, vs Chicago, vs Seattle
Seattle: vs Rams, @ Carolina, @ SF
Rams: @ Seattle, @ Atl, vs Arizona

If Seattle beats us, SF would get 1 seed if they run table.

305 miles is why its a must win.

Every game is a must win if we want to limit our travel in the post season. Being placed #1 NFC means, first round bye and home field through out... so yes, as soon as we shore up the #1 seed, EVERY game is a must win

305 miles is the direct flight from LAX to SJC. Where LEVI stadium is. AND... I want that stadium looking tip top when we come to town in February 2026. I cant wait to see all the Rams banners, signs and posters up in LEVI stadium and around Santa Clara this Super Bowl. How Glorious would that be?!

To win it all at San Francisco's home... I LOVE IT

All true....my point was more to the fact that starting week 1 it was a must win game for some....in that case then all should be must win I guess.

I'm not dogging you or anyone else that feels that way....I think this is a BIG game but I don't feel it is must win until it is because I always resort to the all I need is a chip and chair mantra

The key is Verse again reminding Darnold of last season. That needs to happen in Seattle’s first possession.

Yeah the way I see it is if the Rams lose they are a lock for the 5th seed and will play at Tampa/Carolina in the 1st round.

Then the next game would probably be at Seattle or at SF assuming the home teams win the other WC games. If I’m the Rams I’d def be rooting for SF to get the #1 seed.

The thing that sucks is that if the Rams get the #5, they would be on the road vs the Packers or Eagles (assuming both win their divisions) even though they’d have finished with a better record.

So winning the NFC West is huge so IMO this is a must win week.

Agreed! The Rams were quite fortunate to defeat the Seahawks in their first meeting, this time the Good Guys will almost certainly need to outplay their opponents to secure a victory.

Historically, our team has never reached the Super Bowl as a 'wild card' team, only once (1979 playoffs) did it win more than one road postseason game en route to the Super Bowl.

To my knowledge, over 87 years the Rams have only ever won three cold-weather road playoff games, the first two of them during the '89 postseason and the third one in the 2004 NFC playoffs.

So the Good Guys nailing down the conference's #1 seed strikes me as being critical for their postseason success... :) :!:

RAM SEASON!!

SF has 3 tough games, Seattle 2 and us just 1 (on paper). Anything can happen even if we lose on Thursday.

I can see SF losing 2 of the last 3 and Seattle losing 1 of the last 3 putting us in a tie break with Seattle which, correct me if I'm wrong, I think we are on the right side of.
