11-3

Post by NorCal RF »

OL another great game……..

TE another solid game……….

Nacua again just enjoy……..

Adams not looking good for biggest game of year……..

Atwell one hell of a catch. 2nd n 2 there instead of 2nd n 10 was big at that point of game……….

Mevis continue great job kid………

Sean everyone knows you are trying to go to Adams early in game inside the 5. Run the damn ball………

That being said a great call late throwing to Parkinson late. Nocua just left field with cramps n Adams was out. Everyone thought run there………

Corum!……….

Great job D against Gibbs. He has been dominating the last month……….

Secondary is horrible my God. And it’s not like we were not getting pressure……….

Damn resilient team in second half……..

I love how Verse n Young did not go in at half time………

Watched all of Seattle game on second TV. Colts ran the ball well. Darnold is not Goff. Colts D did a good job against run………

Rams secondary is horrible. Offense can’t be expected to score 41 in playoffs to win. Playoff teams won’t have the Lions secondary……….

Playoff teams also won't have the number 1 offense in the league.

We gave up 7 on offense (may as well have been a pick 6)
The refs gave 7 with one of tworst pi calls on a 4th down ever.
take away those scores and you have a 41 -20 game against a great offensive team

great win I just wished he would run the ball on the goal line. always tries to be too cute. Just can not figure out Darnold and Goff is better I agree.
Dan Campbell is a meathead and he has to find a OC. He is terrible at calling plays. was an article out last week about how he may be on the hot seat in Detroit.
we have a very talented young DL...love their enthusiasm.
Our TE's are good

Sorry secondary is bad. Not going to sugar coat their poor play on Refs………..

I agree about the secondary - it is awful & any excuse for their play cannot begin with more talk about our Offense. Are our players this bad or is it the scheme- or a combo of both ???? Not certain we can win in the playoffs with such awful secondary play.

JMO it’s most talented player by a lot is Lake. We are seeing how much him being out is hurting this secondary……

I do expect more out of Durant. Not sure what is going on there. To a lesser extent also McCollough…….

A good run for a few games last year hasn’t changed my mine on Witherspoon. He isn’t that good. Williams has gotten slow……….

I still think Kichens is fine. Feel the same with Curl…….

I just don’t think it’s a talented group. A bit surprised. I thought they would be better. Any scheme probably has me saying the same thing…….

Our safeties are good enough but the best of them is out injured ( lake) our CBs are plain horrible. All of them. Something needs to be done. And all the CBS are bad — this has nothing to do with today’s game. They’ve been trash for a while now. Ever since they let Jalen Hurts completely destroy them in the second half of the Philadelphia game, since they allowed Mac Jones to throw for nearly 400 yards against the 49ers, and there are plenty of other examples like allowing Brice Young to look like Dan Marino. The Rams’ cornerbacks are awful — absolute garbage. All of them. There isn’t a single one worth saving.

I know, I know… it’s crazy that not even one of them plays well. I’m not even sure who’s worse — D. Will, Forbes, Durant, or Witherspoon. It’s honestly insane.

At this point, you have to wonder if it’s the scheme or the DBs coach. How is it possible that none of them can sustain even a decent level of play?

I have to rematch the game but D Will played a solid game.

It was Forbes and Durant, taking turns on, who can give up the bigger play, while the safeties are covering grass.

If that was the Lion's backup CBs playing, they were still way better than our starters. I don't get it. Yes Stafford still scored, but those throws and catches were amazing in tight coverage. Not like the wide open 20 and 30 yard passes Goff was making. Just so bad, they look lost when the QB can have time to get into that mid/deep area. They gotta fix it with who we have. Blitz all day? Just have to get to the QB if this is our secondary. And no- Akello is not better.

Hopefully Thursday

I know Higbee and Hav are eligible to come back this week. Imo Hav should remain on IR until needed. Higbee could return, so the Rans have 4 TEs. Imo Park should continue to start.

I agree bad. Said so again last night. But…………

I thought about what some 21 said in this thread last night n he has a valid point. We are not probably going to face a Detroit passing game in the playoffs. Secondary still a huge issue but you look at Chicago, GB, Philly, n Seattle and well their offensive strength is our defensive strength and that is them running the ball n us stopping it. Not concern about Tampa. Sign me up to play Carolina again………….

Now SF……………

Detroit passing attack was not the only one to destroy this secondary. Mediocre qbs also did it, Mac Jones torched them for almost 400, Jalen hurts did it in the second half of the Philly game, even Bryce Young torched them badly. It doesn't matter who we face, this secondary is getting torched unless lake comes back. The unit was a much better unit overall when he was playing.

Agree on all points but the secondary earlier thus year was really good. Maybe it's the lack of pressure by the DL and that we played a top tiered offense. Note they only had 70 or so yards running the ball so they were more focused on passing putting more stress the secondary.

Every team has faults and weaknesses so it's just how we attack them and cover up ours.
