2 First for Lamar Or Joe
I know everybody thinks we’re gonna draft the best players with these two draft the best player available in the draft , But what if we trade for Lamar Or Joe. Matthew Stafford is playing at an MVP level but he is getting older and McVay doesn’t like to develop quarterbacks I think we trade for a premier quarterback.

Hope not. Especially Lamar, and I think Joe would just cost too much. I dont think Cincy answers the phone for 2 firsts.

Re: 2 First for Lamar Or Joe
I don't think 2 first would be enough for either. Maybe 2 firsts and a 2nd if we are lucky.
Since this is a hypothetical question, I will also assume this is after Stafford leaves...could be 1-3 more years. I would do it for Burrow but not for Lamar.
- Lamar has not looked 70% all year
- Lamar rarely finishes a full season
- Running QBs hit a wall fairly quick (Not saying he has hit is wall, but he won't be as effective in a couple more years
- Burrows struggles finishing seasons as well. (Even at LSU.) He is good enough to take a chance and hope it has been OL issues getting him hurt
- McVay's offense is extremely complicated. I would default to the player that has the highest football IQ. (Not sure which one in this case.)
- 2 firsts and 1 2nd is nothing to give up for a QB. It would take at least 2 firsts to move up and grab one and then there is only a 50% chance of them being successful.

Re: 2 First for Lamar Or Joe
Why would we want Jackson. He hasn’t played well at all this year……….
So what do you do with Burrows since in all likelihood Stafford will be back next year. He is signed in 26………
At least for this off season I don’t see any trade like mentioned. They made trade one for a future first but not for a vet QB. Not for 26. 27 another story…….

Re: 2 First for Lamar Or Joe
If Stafford has another year in him and wants to play, I would rather have him than those 2. He may win the MVP. So this would be if he decides to retire I assume. I would rather draft a guy to learn from Staff....Mendoza would be great.

Norcal and Bulldawg said all that needs to be said. Hard no. And doesn't cost out or make sense.

Re: 2 First for Lamar Or Joe
I love Joe B as a player but he is always injured. While I think getting Joe B for two firsts is more than fair, I dont know if I would take that risk. I would need at least 3 doctors to sign off on him.
Lamar, as he ages and it becomes harder to be that great running threat, isn't worth the risk. Lamar isn't even Mcvay type of player.
If I had to pick, Joe B all the way.

Yeah if I had to pick it would be Burrows too. But it ain't happening, if it's going to, for another 2 or 3 years... when Staff's done.Cornell29 wrote: ↑December 11th, 2025, 9:04 am I love Joe B as a player but he is always injured. Win it this year, he's gotta keep playing so we can run it back. Run it back and he's gotta stay for the 3-peat... Then he goes out on top..
Only negative might be Sean, who might want a new challenge somewhere else or doing something else after that kind of run...
What a homer huh?

Re: 2 First for Lamar Or Joe
I think the question is entertaining discussion. I heard Burrow's interview yesterday and he didn't sound like he was having fun. The radio was saying he could be the next Andrew Luck and retire.
His contract ends in 2029 so he will be a Bengal for awhile unless he retires. It wouldn't completely surprise me if he asked for a trade or threatened to retire after next year.
Ocram - I would rather have Santa Clause. He would probably make a decent OL.

Re: 2 First for Lamar Or Joe
To even consider Jackson is just nuts. Dude can't stay healthy and can't win a playoff game. Hard pass. Now, burrow is another thing...also has a hard time staying healthy but give him an o line and he can be a monster. Too bad he is not asking for this trade in 2-3 years from now. It would be perfect for us.

Re: 2 First for Lamar Or Joe
Isn't anyone here a classic 'Peanuts' fan? It has to be the Great Pumpkin all the way, the guy is massively elusive, he reminds me of Marshall Faulk back during the heyday of the GSOT.
Neither Lamar Jackson nor Joe Burrow has managed to stay healthy over the past several seasons, I can't envision the Rams trading for either of them...
