As of today what can Rams do to improve secondary?
I have read all the threads and noted concern with secondary. But realistically what can the Rams do down the stretch to improve the group? What player out there would you want? At what cost? Or do you ride the horse you got and hope offense outscores all comers?

Re: As of today what can Rams do to improve secondary?
Well you want Lake back but that isn’t happening anytime soon………
Nothing. This is your secondary this deep into the season. The only thing you can consider doing is blitzing more but if you don’t get to the QB you are probably in deep bleep with this secondary how they have played the last 2 weeks……..

agree. now if I am Shula he knows the weakness of this defense so blitz more to eliminate big plays. Then in the offseason address it in FA and the draftNorCal RF wrote: ↑December 7th, 2025, 5:55 pm Well you want Lake back but that isn’t happening anytime soon………

I would do absolutely nothing. I do want to see us blitz more but I understand why we dont. I have faith in this group and I guarantee we'll be better come playoff time.Jacksnow wrote: ↑December 7th, 2025, 5:39 pm I have read all the threads and noted concern with secondary. Maybe I shouldn’t ask this, but was Kendrick active today?
Half of AZ’s offensive starters were gone today, although Wilson and especially McBride are very good. Playing against Detroit’s receivers will be very different.

I’ll throw in also we have to make the other teams offense one dimensional the rest of the season. This D has to stop the run, like they did today and didn’t do last week, and force the opponent into passing downs. D is in trouble if they allow big running games moving forward because I think we are limited in pass D which is rather obvious…….

And here comes Gibbs and Montgomery. Here comes St. Brown and Williams. We all know that blitzing Goff is the best way to slow down their passing game, but then you have to stop Goff from dumping off to Gibbs who will then run another 30 yards. Perhaps Landman can shadow Gibbs while the D line pressures Goff into fumbles and rushed throws. Lions are going to be a handful and if Goff has time, St. Brown will gash our weak secondary.

Re: As of today what can Rams do to improve secondary?
I am fully expecting them to score 30-32 . We need 35 to win and I think we can do it because the lions defense is even worse than oursUtah Rams Fan wrote: ↑December 7th, 2025, 10:16 pm And here comes Gibbs and Montgomery. Re: As of today what can Rams do to improve secondary?
Pooh was healthy enough to play alot of snaps this week, unlike against Carolina and all reports are he will be healthy next week, so that helps. With that said, I'm worried, one mistake and Gibbs takes it to the house. Rams secondary won't be able to hold. Rams must get pressure.NorCal RF wrote: ↑December 7th, 2025, 6:32 pm I’ll throw in also we have to make the other teams offense one dimensional the rest of the season. The offense will have to be at its best against the Lions. No mistakes, no turnovers. 30 plus at a minimalbrasilrams wrote: ↑December 8th, 2025, 1:07 amI am fully expecting them to score 30-32 . Stop Gibbs n get n Goff’s face period. Gibbs is the best back in the game you have to place top priority on him……Cornell29 wrote: ↑December 8th, 2025, 4:07 amPooh was healthy enough to play alot of snaps this week, unlike against Carolina and all reports are he will be healthy next week, so that helps. I feel we will keep him in check in the run game. Pass game is what concerns me……..
Offensively I think we will go up n down the field on them as long as Havs isn’t blocking Hutch. Their secondary continues to to be beat up n not very good this season…….

have to put a TE next to Hav for sure when Hutch is lined up against himNorCal RF wrote: ↑December 8th, 2025, 8:00 amStop Gibbs n get n Goff’s face period. Gibbs is the best back in the game you have to place top priority on him……Cornell29 wrote: ↑December 8th, 2025, 4:07 am

Re: As of today what can Rams do to improve secondary?
If you remember, all SF's were out too and CMC and they had their back-up QB starting and the 9ers still successfully passed it all day long.
You have to stick with and play what/who you got at this point. Change the rotation a bit and get to the QB more is about all you can do. Which would be awesome but neither are long term solutions to blown up coverage....

I say let’s see if McClendon can handle him early. If not then yep………ocram23 wrote: ↑December 8th, 2025, 5:38 pmhave to put a TE next to Hav for sure when Hutch is lined up against himNorCal RF wrote: ↑December 8th, 2025, 8:00 am

Re: As of today what can Rams do to improve secondary?
I feel the coverage isn't the best for sure, but get more pressure earlier on the QB that will help the secondary. Getting out to a good lead forcing detroit to throw more which makes the dline to focus on the pass rush.

Sack the opposing QB on a regular basis; problem solved.

Keep Akelo out for starters...then yes- sack the QB before he throws.

Re: As of today what can Rams do to improve secondary?
I don't see Landman having the speed to do much if they dump to Gibbs .. that's where Lake would be useful, or McCreary if he was healthy .. We need to find a way to make Goff uncomfortable .. a guy who hits 70% .. against our secondary .. that could go badly very quicklyUtah Rams Fan wrote: ↑December 7th, 2025, 10:16 pm And here comes Gibbs and Montgomery. They score 30 a game .. if Goff isn't made uncomfortable .. against OUR secondary .. I would expect that number to increasebrasilrams wrote: ↑December 8th, 2025, 1:07 amI am fully expecting them to score 30-32 . Re: As of today what can Rams do to improve secondary?
they need to keep 2-3 guys focused on gibbs really . Goff dumps the ball to him now basically every other snap. Gibbs is so fast and breaks so many tackles that one guy spying on him won't do it .GoldenRam wrote: ↑December 9th, 2025, 6:44 pmI don't see Landman having the speed to do much if they dump to Gibbs .. that's where Lake would be useful, or McCreary if he was healthy ..
