Rams vs Lions Pre Game Thread
The next two games are going to show there we are at.
Rams are favored by 4.5pts.
Over the next for games, we play the Lions, Seahawks, Falcons, and Cardinals.
The Seahawks play the Colts, Rams, Panthers, and 49ers.
The 49ers play the Titans, Colts, Bears, and Seahawks.
I think we must win out to ensure the NFC West and the top seed in the NFC.

Re: Rams vs Lions Pre Game Thread
• After '23 and '24 losses to these guys.... Rams are hungry.
• McVay's pride will keep him in check and showing the world, Goff > Stafford was the greatest decision he's ever made as the Rams coach.
• The two Rams spots we need to be absolutely on point is: OL and Secondary. Have to contain Hutch, and Corners need to let Goff know, it's not going to be an easy day.
• ST's... Finally, our weakest group has turned a corner. Notice that literally NONE of us are talking about ST's except to say that Mevis has been great, and our returners, etc are now do their damn jobs. We were discussing the ST's way too much in here, BUT now we are on the right track.
• Stafford. He prob wants this game more than Sean does. It's no secret that Matt and Sean have been bothered by '23 playoff loss, then '24 season opener loss to the Lions. IF this is Matts last year, you KNOW he wants this game... and bad, so I am hoping Matt and Sean's seriousness about this coming Sunday, reflects and shows to the rest of the Rams team, that they better jump on board and mount up, or get the hell out.
• I am also sure, Rams have not forgotten Campbells comment about taking out knees, then Higs is lost for a season...
This week is ALL business. Rams will come to play. Not this year Lions, not this year. But thanks for shopping....

Re: Rams vs Lions Pre Game Thread
Whatever took place in the past…………..
Sunday IMO comes down to stopping the best RB in the game and getting in Goff’s face……………
If D doesn’t find a way to keep Gibbs in check then Rams will probably lose. I think we will have a solid game against the run against him. Pass game we will see……………
Get Goff uncomfortable I don’t care who their WR are……………..
I think our offense will go up n down the field on them as long as Havs isn’t out there blocking Hutch. Lions secondary is beat up n not that good this year………….

agree. the pressure on Goff is the key. And yes we have to contain Gibbs for sure.NorCal RF wrote: ↑December 8th, 2025, 10:25 am Whatever took place in the past…………..

20 for the lions against these corners ? Maybe you didn't watch akelo and forbes the past few weeks .HellRam wrote: ↑December 8th, 2025, 12:10 pmGoff has been pressured all year. Obviously, the more pressure the better. If is he harassed all game he will struggle. His ability to avoid sacks is better than its ever been.
The key will be scheming against the Lions O. I actually think this game will come down to coaching and X's and O's. The Rams also have the much better D which will contribute to slowing down the Lions offense while their D struggles to stop ours.
Rams 31
Lions 20

This isn't Stafford's last year. He's having one of his best seasons ever. This is pretty much a must-win and the fact that's it's against the Lions is meaningless.

So we have two Detroit fans in here now?
Nuts. There is a Lions forum. See attached.

Although I'll give credit to Bulldawg, as he admitted from day one, he became a Rams fan when Stafford signed w us, and has followed Rams ever since. But, I bet its confusing being a Falcons, Rams and Lions fan... well, at least one of your teams might make the playoffs every year...

I do get the underdog thing and I don't mind those 4 teams you listed for the same "pity" reasons.HellRam wrote: ↑December 8th, 2025, 5:08 pmAnyone that doesn't think I'm a Rams fan is a baboso.
But there are a few teams I'd root for in the big game if LA isn't involved.
Bengals
Lions
Browns
Jags
I like a underdog story. Maybe the Bills too though they've atleast had more consistent good stretches then the teams above.
But they seldom come thru when you root for them those seldom moments... then the pity stretches to their fan base.
Staff's gone from piling up garbage time stats in Detroit to sitting out Q's and even game 17's in LA. He's like a kid out there at 37!
You wonder how his career might have gone if he would have been drafted into and played in a better situation...

Re: Rams vs Lions Pre Game Thread
I wonder when Stafford was ever in this good of a situation before in Detroit with this level of an Offensive coach.HellRam wrote: ↑December 8th, 2025, 5:41 pm
Pocket guys hit their prime in their 30s. Obviously, Stafford would have been better off. But even Lions fans will tell you they've never seen him play this consistently good. Stafford would have stretches of making bad choices and accuracy issues.
He's truly playing the best he's ever has. And McVay and the Rams are a big part of that. I knew when we got Stafford we were getting a upgrade for the immediate future. But his play this year is better than I expected for him. Especially limiting the interceptions.
Wouldn't a lack of that and talent level across the Offense contribute greatly to his decision making and accuracy issues?
He's completing passes to 9 different guys most games now. Yesterday 10 were targeted and 9 had catches.

Buffalo (Josh is fun to watch and my son-in-law’s sister is married to the owners nephew.)HellRam wrote: ↑December 8th, 2025, 5:08 pmAnyone that doesn't think I'm a Rams fan is a baboso.

Cincy (Burrow is fun to watch)
I have never felt bad for underdog Cleveland.
Only other NFC team I will cheer for is Falcons. (Used to be a Dallas fan until Jerry Jones bought them.)

We need tocrun the table. We csn run the table by running the ball to complement the Staff Attack.
I am down on Shula and his soft non blitzing style.
High scoring contest goes to the Rams.

Re: Rams vs Lions Pre Game Thread
I know it is not their style but for this game - the Rams need to - as we used to say “ come Heavy” to this game. Bring an edge & swagger to this game : dictate the game to the Lions and not be dictated to. Despite the bad matchups in the secondary our D has to be felt with a pass rush and physicality down on our former Statute of a QB. Rams need to enforce their Will in this game.

and the flip side of this coin, is that the Lions ground game could also be key...
Rams need to start stuffing the run. Cannot let Gibbs loose.

Re: Rams vs Lions Pre Game Thread
The Lions D ranks 10th vs the run and 19th vs the pass, but is now w/o 3 DB starters
I bet Sean is pass heavy for this one and the Rams O will make their hay throwing it against their weak and battered pass D.
Just need the O-Line to stay on point... I notice we haven't been taking many penalties lately...

I don't like Young being on the list though. I don't remember him getting hurt? Is this precautionary or is he at risk of not playing? We need him against Goff.

Why are they posing with a cheerleader? At the very least don't ask the coach questions at the end of 1st half. It's embarrassing how the coaches have to restrain their response.

it's going to be interesting to see how Goff plays because he has been getting bombarded with the same old question this week about his time with the Rams. He has to be getting tired of the same old questions

Dear in the headlights crying about how he was deeply hurt again... blah blah blah...
It's called business Jared,
Ohhh... and because of that business decision we won a SB.
I mean, you had your chance, yet we couldn't even get more than THREE points in your SB... and well, Stafford came in, and we WON it all...
Greatest business decision for Rams since signing Kurt Warner and then playing him...
WE WILL RALLY AROUND MATTHEW STAFFORD AND PLAY DAMN GOOD FOOTBALL.

And they are in REAL danger of not making the playoffs this year. Several analysts were picking them as SB champs. I hope Rams are the team that bursts their bubble.DelMar wrote: ↑December 12th, 2025, 12:48 pmDear in the headlights crying about how he was deeply hurt again... blah blah blah...
