Re: Mock Drafts Threads
Hell no!! We don’t need a guy who is going to sit this year in the first round. We need ILB, CB or TE period. All could be instant starters.

He'll no #2
Simmons could have emerged as the top offensive tackle prospect in the draft class and a potential Top 10 pick. However, a torn patellar tendon suffered against Oregon in October of 2024 ended his season. It also threw his draft stock into deep uncertainty.

Re: Mock Drafts Threads
most analysts have said that Simmons is the top OT in the draft when healthy. I thought he was going to be fine for this year? I have no problem with this pick because in the long run he will get healthy and hopefully be fine. Remember Anthony Munoz, arguably the best OT of all time, had a major knee injury his Sr yr and look what he did. Granted I am not comparing Simmons to Munoz but you get the point. This guy is that goodJacksnow wrote: ↑April 4th, 2025, 8:11 amHe'll no #2

Re: Mock Drafts Threads
We "need " to go WR. I would go Isiah Bond or Luther Burden if available or trade down and pick a WR and BPA. The reason for this is this thinking is Tutu and Devante (essentially) are on one year deals.

Re: Mock Drafts Threads
You go by your draft board. And if Simmons is BPA when #26 arrives you draft him. Fact is Havs could be down to his last year so a projected top OT sitting a year is smart. BPA period. Bad teams don’t follow there draft boards and reach for players who play a position that is supposedly a need.
We do remember when the OL took hits to the starters early last year right?………..

Re: Mock Drafts Threads
I like this pick; I have been saying all along we need to continue to restock the Oline. If Stafford goes down, season over.
Protect Stafford now! Draft the best OT on the board at 26.
LB, CB, TE in the 3rd rounds.

Re: Mock Drafts Threads
Simmons would be a good pick. You don't pick a TE in the first round if you have him 40th on your board. Fill the team with the best players out there. Now, if there is a CB that they love , I like that as well. Draft by board, not position.

I think we all agree BPA and if Simmons is that guy they I have no issue with the selectionRamsfan08ny wrote: ↑April 4th, 2025, 12:03 pmSimmons would be a good pick. Re: Mock Drafts Threads
Why not go by your board at a position of need? We are hurting at LB and CB. I think having a player who will sit isn’t going to help us as much as one who will play. Even a TE (if Warren falls) would see a lot of time on the field.Ramsfan08ny wrote: ↑April 4th, 2025, 12:03 pmSimmons would be a good pick. But I could see the Rams taking another OL or DL just because that’s the kind of stuff they do.
I’m just in the win now mindset and I may be wrong but I don’t think a backup OT does that. JMO

Re: Mock Drafts Threads
drafting for needs sometimes you reach vs taking the best player available. Obviously this is within reason. For example I think drafting Campbell, LB Bama, now after his shoulder surgery would be a huge mistake even though a LB is of great need. Also Revel, CB who tore his ACL in Sept, would be a big mistake too.NN1Badboy wrote: ↑April 4th, 2025, 1:36 pmWhy not go by your board at a position of need? We are hurting at LB and CB. If Warren drops to them, which isn't going to happen, then that is a no brainer. I also think Loveland would be in play too but I don't think he will be there either. I don't see them moving up due to the cost but who knows they tried to last yr to get Bowers. I think controlling the line of scrimmage is the key to winning games so OL/DL would not be a bad choice IMO.

Totally agree I keep hearing we should draft a WR your take applies to that player as well. Why draft Whittingham then.

Re: Mock Drafts Threads
From many of the mocks. Rams drafting Starks is heating up.
Starks does fit a huge need. He is a slower version of Branch, but is just as smart. He can tackle, can cover, and is versatile (can play multiple positions). He would become the green dot for the Rams for many years to come. He can play the cover ILB, safety, Star position and nickle corner.

he is shooting up the draft board I honestly do not think he will be there at 26. If he is I would be happy with that selection, dude is a studCornell29 wrote: ↑April 8th, 2025, 2:57 am From many of the moves. Rams drafting Starks is heating up.

I have been watching more film on Dart. I would prefer a stud ILB, but I would not be disappointed with Dart.

Agreed...If Starks is available I don't think we have a choice not to take him. My guess is he will be gone by 15.ocram23 wrote: ↑April 8th, 2025, 8:02 amhe is shooting up the draft board I honestly do not think he will be there at 26. Re: Mock Drafts Threads
Not at all sold on Milroe. I just font see it in his resume, and he was never able to throw Bama on his back and be a QB to carry a team.
If the Rams love him, I hope they see more than I do.

If Rams go RB, I expect a trade of KW. Notice how KW extension wasn't done despite rumors Rams wanted a deal done.
