Used to be a fantastic place..not so much nowadays. Sad but that's what happens when you when you have out of control immigration..and now we are experiencing it here in America now. I recall back in 68 when I was going to Belmont High, there was a day the smog was so bad you could not see from one end of a hallway to the other end

Most folks live on their farms, then whatcha growin, I started a farm, but some government types didn't seem happy about it. so I though it best to not do that .. Are you making money ... Rich gentleman farmer??

It is more of a hobby farm. I am not down weekly so I can't really own livestock...cows, sheep, etc. I did start honey bees a couple years ago. Not sure if I will make money off them but give me a few more years. Once I retire from my day job, I need to find a way to bring in a little money from it. (I am still 1-2 years away from retiring.)

I planted 70,000 pine trees about 8-9 years ago. They will bring in some decent money at some point. Maybe not for me, but hopefully pay for my grandkids college or something. I have grown peanuts and wheat. Wheat is probably the easiest but the issue is finding someone to combine the wheat. (Combines are very expensive.)

I do make enough to cover taxes from a guy that pays me to rake/sell my pinestraw. (You can get $250-$350/acre for pinestraw in my area.)

Still toying with different ideas and trying to figure out something to bring in a little spending $$. Trees are the easiest but payout is longer term. I want to find something to make $5-$10K every year. (I netted about $8K off my wheat 2 years ago.)

yep it was bad. I remember as a kid when you got too much smog in your throat you had to chill for a while before it went away. Oh the Glory days
