Re: Titans @ Rams, who you got and why?
I could go back and look at the energy some people wasted on these boards detailing how, after the sub-par performance by the D over the Lions LA would get "shredded" by the Titans run game.
Well here we are days away and funny how much things can change. That's the NFL and to a greater extent life in general.
Hopefully a continuation of using the running game from the start will lead to another productive 1st quarter and set the tone for a win. It was great to see that last Sunday, although there really is no sense comparing anything the Rams did vs. the woeful Texans.
These 2 teams are very similar on defense with the "bend but not break" philosophies but the Rams have given up 27 less pts overall. That means FG's will matter. Time of possession will matter. With Henry out the Rams advantage is clear- if they can sustain long drives resulting in points, the opposite of going for it on those 4th downs against the Texans.
And of course the addition of Von Miller means Tannehill will be rushed into mistakes.
It will be a close game throughout but LA prevails 31-21

Tannehill will be exposed with no Derrick Henry. With the added pressure from Miller, I predict the Rams first pick six of the season.

Re: Titans @ Rams, who you got and why?
If Julio returns this week the Rams are going to be in for a dog fight. Tannehill has not had his full complement of WR all year. Their play action game is excellent no matter who is the RB. The last time TN was missing Henry Tannehill had a monster game against a playoff NO team.
TN does not have to run the ball to beat the Rams. They have beaten Sea in Sea when Wilson was healthy and everyone knows that is not an easy task. They beat Buffalo who has a great D and O. They also destroyed KC. They beat Indy twice and the Rams had trouble with Indy.
TN won last week without a real game from Henry because he broke his foot in the first Q and ran on it for 3.5 Q. They still won in away game.
I would not count them out. There DL is pretty solid. Landry is having a monster year and Simmons is already a dominant DT. Autry is playing well and it appear Bud Dupree is coming back from the ACL tear well consider what he did last week.
Their best CB is due to come back this week too. He has been out 3 weeks. They have the most injuries in the NFL and they keep winning.
They are doing something right.

Tenn is still a physical team with excellent receivers. Won't be the same team without DH, but still a very good team. I still believe with Srafford, the Rams can score almost at will, but need TDS over FGs. Stafford gets another opportunity to shine in prime time.

Titans D
24th Pass
8th Run
22nd Yards a Game.
21st points a Game 24.4
I doubt they can stop the Rams Offense.
Add Miller to the Rams D and subtract Henry from the Tennessee backfield
Big Passing day
10 point win for LA
37-27

Tennessee was not favored in the Buffalo game.
Tennessee was not favored in the Kansas City game.
Tennessee was not favored in the Indianapolis game.
Tennessee is not favored against the Rams.
I sense a pattern here.

Easy win. Rams 34-17. Tannehill will be sore and tired at the end of this game.

The only pattern is the Rams are not any of those 3 teams.
BTW the Titans lost the 1st meeting to the Colts at home as the favorite, Convenient of you to leave that out,

New guy is a Titans fan in Nashville. I sometimes join fan forums for our opponents to see what the general sentiment of the upcoming game is. Since we don't play you guys often, I am indeed new here. Thanks for the hospitality.DMRamFan wrote: ↑November 4th, 2021, 3:18 pmHmmm....
Buffalo, fair statement.
Kansas City, (KC is overrated this year). Titan should have had been favored imo.
Colts, They are really a toss up. Hard for anyone to bet on them. Either they have it together or Wentz throws bad pics that cost games.
Oh, and the Titans had a running back on his way to break every single rushing record in history.
Rams are solid enough...This is a tough match up, dont get me wrong. Bet how you feel, but my point is, this is a much different Tennessee team... And they havent faced the Rams offense yet. Best in the league probably. We already know their offense wont be as potent.
Welcome to the forum, new guy ;)
As for the game itself, I don't think anyone here in Music City thinks we should be favored in this game. The Rams are stacked and arguably the best team in the league. Of course we heard that from the hype of the Buffalo game too.
The absence of Derrick Henry looms large in this contest. He's been like a cyborg in that this is the 1st serious injury in his entire career. Last time he missed a game was a single game in 2019 to nurse a strained hammy, and he said he could have played that game too. If we're lucky, we'll see him in the playoffs. We're fortunate that we're in the AFC South where the Texans and Jags are terrible and we swept the Colts by midseason. Take care of business for the remaining three conference games and we'll host a playoff game.
We signed the aging but still future hall of fame Adrian Peterson to give a lift to the offense. Whether this will work or not is an open question. What will make me think we have a better chance is if Julio Jones plays (another hamstring issue). If he and A.J. Brown are out there, then the Titans offense easily finds another gear and can take the top off a defensive secondary in a hurry.
The goal is to come into L.A. and steal a game that no one thinks we can win. We've been in this position before. We just have to figure out how to stop the high powered offense. Our secondary has holes although safety Kevin Byard is having another Pro Bowl year. Defensive front is playing it's best football right now. But we can't get in a 14-0 situation like we did with the Colts last week and expect to come back. The Rams are a much better team.

We swept the Colts this year. You must be thinking last year. Only AFC game we've lost so far was the embarrassment to the Jets.Rampager66 wrote: ↑November 4th, 2021, 7:09 pmThe only pattern is the Rams are not any of those 3 teams.

Don't worry, we know that feeling. Had it last season against both them and the fish!!Sevenfeet wrote: ↑November 5th, 2021, 8:05 amWe swept the Colts this year. You must be thinking last year. However, this year we're a much more improved team and thus hopefully it looks like those days are behind us.

Rams will win in a close one. I think the Titans are always better than most people think and the betting spread is way too big even without Henry.

I wouldn't be writing the Colts off just yet. They were a Playoff team last year and have played everybody tough and been in all their losses which have been to the league elite btw..
I will say this, you guys got a wicked sched too...
I had the Titans as a lock for that division, til DH went down. We'll see how they look w/o him against the Rams Sunday and going forward... They are talented enough to still get er done.

This year's Colts lack the focus and mental toughness to perform effectively in tight games, still they'll likely pick up a few more wins due to playing in a division with the Jaguars and Texans... ;) :? :P

They still have Games against BUF, TB, ARI, LVR, NE and in the division, 2 games with JAX and 1 more with HOU.
At 4 and 5 they would need probably 5 wins to get in... Perhaps they beat Jax x2, Hou, NE, anddddddd..... LVR... or maybe 8 wins get them in?

Our three remaining division games are once at Jacksonville and twice at Houston. Both teams are horrible. Even without Derrick Henry we should be able to take care of business.Rampager66 wrote: ↑November 5th, 2021, 10:18 amYou're right it was last year.

After the Rams game, the best competition we face is the Saints in Week 10 (without Jameis Winston), the Patriots (who are just beginning to get their feet), the 49ers (average) and the Steelers (they are trying for a wild card). The other team on the schedule is Miami (bad). Short of a complete implosion, I like our chances for the post season.
I'm not writing the Colts off....far from it, they are more talented than their record indicates. But they literally have to almost win out to catch us and we have the easier schedule. (Bills, Bucs and Raiders are all on the slate for them)

Don't think the Colts are thinking about the Division at this point, more so a WC spot. It's probably the Titans division to lose. If Tennessee suddenly falls off the map then your division ends up lookin similar to last years NFC Least! ;)Sevenfeet wrote: ↑November 5th, 2021, 1:46 pmOur three remaining division games are once at Jacksonville and twice at Houston. Re: Titans @ Rams, who you got and why?
I think this one might be quite close. Just have a feeling the we've been nursing a few injuries all week and that may slow us down a bit?
I don't expect the lack of practice for Stafford, Woods, Ramsey, etc to derail us totally but it may have an effect.
I'm not expecting to see Miller this week and Gaines, Hoecht and even Bobby Brown may have to step up a little more on the D line?
That said, Titans have issues of their own. I'll say 2 TDs and 3 FGs for Rams and 1 TD and 4 FGs for Titans.
Rams 23 Titans 19 in an uncomfortable one.

Re: Titans @ Rams, who you got and why?
I really think our D really starts to gel, and not because of Miller. I am not even sure if he plays tomorrow. This is about the time last year when our D really started to put it together. I’m not saying shut out because the Nashville is a very good football team. I just think our D will play well. Everyone will blame it on Henry not playing which is fine by me. Then we will shut the whiners all the way down.
I. Usually a one game at a time guy but I really feel this one coming. Buckle up boys we are about to turn it up a notch.

TN defense did hold Mahomes to 3pts so it will be interesting to see what we can do in comparison.

Not sure how this game will go. Titans will pound the rock and Tannehill will just take what the defense gives. Going to be a tough game.

Re: Titans @ Rams, who you got and why?
I know Henry is out but the other Titan star players are healthy. AJ, JJ, Tannehill and even their starting lb and ol returns this week.
Rams lost SJD, Ramsey hurt, Von might not play. Stafford back is screwed up (only had one partial practice all week), Woods is hurt. D Jack got cut bc he wanted out.
Rams overall are more injured then the titans. Rams are struggling to stay healthy this year.
