Re: Von Miller is a ram!
Next season does not matter right now.
One thing I’m sure of is that Von Miller will be motivated.
He’ll be a prime interest to all the fans, viewers and the rest of the NFL watching on Sunday night.
Hoping this really gooses the Defense to improve even more.

Re: Von Miller is a ram!
Well, who would we draft in round 2 or 3 that will actually play in the next 5 years?
These "championship" windows don't stay open for very long (usually). The Rams are going for it NOW. We have other guys that have been drafted in the 3rd, 4th, 5th round...in a couple of years THEY will be starters (some of them, hopefully).
I don't hold draft picks as precious as I used to. It's a new world out there.

Hopefully, he helps us shore up and contain these run-heavy QB's. He has plenty of experience against one of them in Jackson.

In theory a good pass rush will make the Rams current corners and safeties better.brasilrams wrote: ↑November 1st, 2021, 10:05 am I would prefer a corner or safety but I will take it .

Ask Brady vs the Giants in the SB.
The rams will not need to send no more then 5 guys. The front three and Floyd and Miller will provide plenty or pressure.

Re: Von Miller is a ram!
We didn’t want to participate in the draft anyways lol…………..
Not sure if what he does is much of a need but hey we knew this team was all in. I was thinking this could happen after Young was traded there……………
Not having to pay his salary is interesting. It does leave room for another trade but one has to ask what would we trade that other team………..
Lewis has to continue being in the rotation. Plan for Hollins in a few weeks?
We are looking at the OL for the next few years, with Noteboom, if the FA’s are affordable…………..

Hollins will more likely be moved to ILB when he returns. Hollins played ILB and OLB in Denver. He has experience at both.

Obviously if we can get/keep everybody healthy, that's the scariest pass rush force in the NFL

At least the main board won't be cluttered up with draft threads that are supposed to be in the DRAFT SECTION of the forum, but for some reason doesn't get enforced.... ;)DMRamFan wrote: ↑November 1st, 2021, 10:14 amI think we should make it a clean sweep and give away our two pics left in 2022... This way, we can all just plan vacations at draft time. Will be nothing to watch.
Kidding of course, but the draft will be very boring next season... which i'm ok with that if we continue to do this well.

Re: Von Miller is a ram!
Never underestimate the AD factor. AD factor made Fowler look like a top pass rusher. Helped Floyd take his game to the next level. The AD factor will now help Von look young again. Von will see alot one on ones.

Hopefully it works out better for the Rams than it did for Teddy KGB.

Do not underestimate what Von experience and his leadership brings to the locker room. He is a class act and a leader. He isnt a cancer or a selfish guy like a D Jack.

Two (2022) seconds AND from what I've seen so far, Denver is paying $9 million of the $9.7 million he is due.

Re: Von Miller is a ram!
Because Denver is paying this year’s salary I am willing to bet we grab someone else. I’m guessing a MLB.
GOOD LUCK DOUBLE AND TRIPLE TEAMING AD now.
With Miller, Lewis, Hollins, and OBO in rotation it guarantees fresh legs, and keeps the probability of injury down. And if there is one for a week or longer there’s plenty of depth.
We are preparing to turn it up a notch for the back end of the season. There are some great Offenses coming up.
Lastly Miller played for Staley and already knows this D.

Re: Von Miller is a ram!
My initial knee jerk reaction was I hated this trade.
He is on the downside of his career.
He is an unrestricted free agent at the end of this year.
We have other needs such as a stud MLB, return guy, CB… etc.
But… the Broncos are picking up 9mil of his salary.
If he leaves during free agency, Rams should recoup the third round pick with a comp pick.
So, we basically traded our low end second round pick and this has minimal impact on our salary cap.
We still have room to make another splash deal.

Re: Von Miller is a ram!
so heres an interesting thought, how many teams are going to send their tight ends out against this pass rush? Maybe this is an effective way to cover the tight end or rb by scaring the $$hit out of the OC and forcing max protect

"George Allen returns from the grave after Halloween!"
The guy's at the age at which performance can be expected to decline somewhat, this strikes me as a totally short-term move.
If the Rams don't win Super Bowl LVI, it seems as though this trade won't look nearly so good next year... :(

Playing next to AD will reverse most of the decline that Von has experienced over the years.
The AD factor is real.
Von is about to face a huge dose of 1 vs 1 and 1 vs backs and tight ends. If teams try to give Von attention, then Flo sack numbers will just increase at a higher pace.
