Why a QB isn't needed in Rd 1

Post by Macnasty357 »

I am of the belief that the Rams should not draft a QB in the Early Rds. My reasoning is this. In order to properly assess your QB you must have weapons around him. The Rams unfortunately haven't had a decent TE to control the middle of the field for years. J. Cook to be blunt SUCKS!!!! and Kendricks is not consistent. Harkey is a blocker. The Rams would help out their QBs by making this position and WR a priority. I would love to see them trade back in Rd 1 (only if Treadwell or Thomas is gone) pick up an additional 3rd rd er and draft Henry at TE in Rd 1. Or if they draft Thomas or Treadwell get Henry in Rd2 a and come right back with another WR like T. Boyd or J. Doctson in Rd 4 get Higbee TE. Problem solved.

I agree with you 100%. It's hard to assess a QB when he has no one who can catch the ball, or block for him. I'd go all in to get Henry. He can solve our TE issues for 10 years. And I think we can do it by moving back in the draft. Check out my post on the Draft board about players I'd like to see us draft. I think you might find it interesting.

Count me in too. Bring in some playmaking WR, TE and let's see if Nick can earn his $. He's getting all the flack for last years offense.
Alex Smith was a lot like Foles but changed from trying to make plays happen to more of a game manager. Maybe Nick could do likewise.

AlsHon and Henry would be a perfect scenario.
