Good trade. We got 117 + 121 for 88. They KNOW what they're doing.
I guess I am old school where trading with your division rival IS NOT A GOOD THING.

Actually it was a decent trade. We did not need a RB and we got two picks. Still lots of talent in 4th round.

Even if you WIN the trade?
I hear what you are saying but you just made the 49ers better. Sermon is going to be good. That is where I am coming from on this.

Who cares. The niners got another rb. Nearly every rb they line up does good in the system anyway. Last year guys off the street was getting 100 yards.

That's the definition of "overdrafting", no?

So.. let's be a little less strident about the Rams making a "mistake".
So true. Guys wanted Meinerz at 57 he goes at 98? LOL
Funny isn't it. If the rams would have drafted Meinerz at 57 some here would have thought is was a reach. Not realizing he would have lasted until 98.

DMRamFan wrote: April 30th, 2021, 8:31 pm I’m betting Tutu would had still been on the board at 103.

Tutu. All 150 pounds of him.
Tutu is the same size as Marquise Brown when he was drafted in the 1st round and Mcshay Mocked Tutu to go 33.

For those who say he was a reach. Todd McShay had him as high as 33 in one of his recent mocks

Most fans who’ve been paying attention to mock drafts and the Jacksonville Jaguars know by now that the team very well could snag a speed threat at receiver in the 2021 NFL Draft. With this in mind, ESPN’s Todd McShay slotted the Jags Louisville speedster Tutu Atwell at pick No. 33 in his latest mock draft, which caused mixed feelings from the fanbase.

Days after the mock, McShay further explained his top-4 selections for the Jags with picks 1, 25, 33, and 45. His comrade for many years, Mel Kiper Jr. joined him for the segment and also gave his analysis on Atwell — a player who he believes would help presumptive No. 1 pick, Trevor Lawrence, tremendously.

“When you watch him play, I know he’s below 160 [pounds] and is small, but he’s really explosive and is a touchdown waiting to happen in the open field,” said Kiper. “I think when you look at his hands and elusiveness when the ball is in his hands, he fits today’s game perfectly — the space game. That’s Tutu Atwell and that’s why he’d be a fear factor player down there in Jacksonville with Trevor Lawrence.”

a lot of people had Meinerz higher than Meyers out of OSU so it just depends on who is drafting

From NFL Draft Buzz;

“Strengths

Plays fast, flows with the action, showing smooth lateral agility and short-area burst. Has good instincts and awareness to quickly find the ball.

Quick to read run, showing good agility and speed to get past blockers and finish. Experienced in coverage and gets a strong jam on outside receivers.

Intelligent player who can play "MIKE" linebacker despite his lack of size because of his instincts and ability to find the ball in traffic.

A bit stiff but makes the clean open-field tackle. Good effort in pursuit.

Combines very good instincts with above-average reaction skills. Almost always finds the ball in traffic.

Weaknesses

Occasionally overruns plays due to aggressive nature. Hesitates when facing running back Blocks while rushing the passer.

Lacks elite quickness and change-of-direction ability to handle NFL slot receivers after initial contact.

Hits up high and misses more tackles than he should.
Does not blow up targets. Many inside tackles are catch-and-drags, which will be more difficult to make at the next level.

Inconsistent hustle. Only adequate change-of-direction ability. Also loses his balance too often in the open field.

Lacks size to bull rush stronger tackles.”

LB is always important.

No defense is so good that they can’t be elevated by a stud ILB.

I like the Ernest Jones pick – big area of need looks like it has potential to be partially filled. Jones is a sure tackler it appears.

The Tutu Atwell pick is a we’ll see, just like any selection in any draft. Five competent receivers is a problem, esp. with a need for returners? 4.27 speed? Didn’t we say stretching the field was a huge issue needing to be addressed? I can wait on this to see how it turns out without getting upset. Gadget player? Tavon couldn’t run routes, couldn’t track the ball and had bad hands lol. Tutu seems to have none of those issues…I mean the key to getting a big yardage threat in space is his ability to separate and get into that space initially (that wasn’t T. Austin)…plus Tutu can catch on a dead run.

The whiner trade -88th overall pick to get the 117th and 121st pick in the fourth round I like – I mean those picks come up pretty fast tomorrow and the 4th round still looks pretty deep from what I’m seeing.

The passing on Quinn Meinerz, sure, some had him going as late as the 5th as well. Again, whoever knows? How many 1st rounders bust…we just know that the Rams talked to him/showed interest and he looked impressive at the Senior Bowl…

Tomorrow should be interesting without (hopefully) needing to wait very long…can’t see trading back from 4th round talent as much of a possibility.

HellRam wrote: April 30th, 2021, 9:07 pm The Jefferson pick is becoming more of a head scratcher in my opinion. Woods or Kupp might not be Rams much longer after this season. If Jefferson actually develops into the player they hoped.
With Reynolds gone I was expecting Jefferson to use his year of experience with Goff to really step up this year. This wasn’t going to be hard because he caught less passes than Malcolm Brown last season.

Now the landscape is completely different, both QB and added receivers.

Stafford is going to find which receivers he connects with best from a choice of Woody, Kupp, Jefferson, Higbee, Jackson and now Atwell too. I really expected Higbee to get a lot more targets this year but now not so much.

That’s OK if Stafford is dealing it all over and helping move the chains.

Just hoping the OL gives him time plus opens up the running lanes.

TuTu is a stud, comparisons to Austin is only in size. He has great hands. He runs good routes already. If he played at a school with a QB or other Wr's he would be valued better. I think he will be become a fan favorite in years to come. Jet sweeps and fake jet sweeps will hold those ILB n Safeties a half second and that is huge for Akers n Henderson and play action. he also can take the top of the defense and require safety help. When Woods and Kupp run the jet sweeps or Bubble screens it is like we are in slow motion.

Jones pick------hmmmmmmm--- we should trust Snead. Jones has instincts that I think the Rams offset his slower ability to change direction and flip. Long arms and he plays really well when things are in front of him. He will be better than what we have but he is not a wow player for me.

Next 3 picks today are going to be of great value. There are a bunch of guys that are really good football players. Again, they are not taking a center other than maybe the Stanford or Georgia centers but I think they take the Florida, East Carolina, Cincy, Texas A&M offensive tackles that have huge upside. So our forum can go off all day about potentially no offensive lineman.

I agree with all that.

Can't say I was at all happy with our picks so far (I wasn't), but that seems to be the theme with McVay drafts...which in the end have turned out pretty well. I mean we go thru this every draft, so again I've learned to wait and see at least...do mock drafts really know anything, esp. after the early picks?

Of course complaining is completely understandable regardless, as these guys haven't been without mistakes...Goff/O-line have been issues the past two seasons. They addressed the Goff one, now we'll see about the O-line, lb's etc....

He reminds me of Kupp.

Great ability to get open, great hands, QBs love him.

Someone is going to make a nice pickup w him.
