Hopefully he can keep his anti-semetic comments to himself… We don’t need that kind of talk, plus LA has a large Jewish community. Just play football DeSean and stay healthy.

I DON’T like this signing, he’s NO WE, it’s all about him plus 34 always hurt. Just hope it doesn’t stop the Rams from drafting a young speedster.

34 year old deep threat and punt returner? Never heard of that before.

I’ll compare him to another small older player Darren Sproles. Sproles also played his age 34,35,36 seasons, but he only played in 3,6,6 games and didn’t do much.

I have zero expectations for this signing.

I doubt he has much left in the tank, but guess we’ll see. Crazy guys like him, Frank Gore, and Adrian Peterson are still in the league

Who wasn't hurt on the eagles the last few years?
And how many guys really wanted to get back on the field with that mess last year in Philly?

How bout Steve Smith also....
I don't know what DeSean has left. His last stint with the eagles was a disappointment. He was always banged up, always hurt.

Even last year he averaged almost 18 YPC. That's what I would expect this year, in this offense. Would be huge.

We don't even know for sure if he will make the team. I have never been a fan of DeSean but let's see what happens during camp and preseason (if we have one). A little competition never hurts and it doesn't prevent us from drafting another WR. I look at this as a 1 year experiment with minimal risk.

Fair enough. It was more a response to people who were SURE we were getting Marvin Jones.
Kinda like Watson is for sure being traded without well if this happens I get to change my mind..............

Rams would have obtained Jones if they had the $$. DJax is nothing to get excited about IMO but I do get why they signed him. You take flyers on such a player because of history with HC and more importantly it’s all you can afford to do.

I hate this signing. As a Rams fan who lives in Eagles territory, I predict that he will never see the field. He is old and has been hurt an inordinate amount of time the last few seasons. A total waste of whatever they are paying him.

I dont know either? He isnt coming here to start. He provides another element for opposing defenses to think about on the 15 to 20 snaps he plays on. Also adds a punt returner.

He's the Ricky Proehl of the offense. The vet player that is used in certain situations and packages.

Wait, Ho. You cant tell me an "extenuating circumstance" didnt completely change the Watson situation, LOL cmon man be fair...
Actually.......... I can Mike.

Football only he isn’t the hot commodity some like you were trying to convince all that he is. And he certainly isn’t worth what Houston is rumored to want in return. The franchise QB tag that some want to give him is well laughable IMO.

Hey he still may get traded and you may have last laugh but if he does I won’t be sold that team made a great trade. I still wish the Niners would give Houston what they want for him.

I can relate to his situation...and true, it's only 1 year. So I'm not really complaining. I'm just seriously questioning how much use we will get out of him.

have to agree with NorCal on this one. the ransom the Texans were asking was unrealistic therefore a pipe dream. journalists got the public all ramped up on this. now if the accusers are up to 22 today, which is what is being reported, then maybe his value is decreased. I think Watson now is saying hmmm my contract in Houston isn't so bad and maybe I should just shut my mouth and go to camp and play hard??? doubt he will do that but would be nice.

Worst case scenario D Jack gets injured early and the rams 4th wr goes to IR? Best case scenario, D Jack plays a entire year and brings a missing big play element to the rams offense and punt return unit.

Again why not take the risk on a 1 yr deal?

Bottom Line. Watson was DEFINITELY being dealt up to the point of allegations. He might still be dealt but all bets are off. This extenuating circumstance of course changes everything. And if sexual crimes hadn't been committed I would have been right again, as usual.
Big assumption on your part prior to the charges. listening to the guys who do this for a living the good ones all come back to the same conclusion:
1. what GM out there is going to give up that much capital
2. Houston would never agree to high number 1's in return which limits the teams he would have gone to i.e. NY or Miami

Now he may still get traded because now Houston may not want anything to do with him after all this crap. Tell you what can't wait for the draft. going to be crazy

I think some of us guys who have trepidation here is simply that we are hoping his contract fits the signing. If it’s small, then I’m ok w it. If we can get 10-12 games out of him, why not.
We just have to be very careful w our finances 😉
It's definitely a 1 year deal. The rams released that part of the deal so far

What GM is going to give up that much capital? Um Carolina or Chicago or Denver EASILY. Jets or Miami possibly as well. Told ya, stop listening to old bastards who are threatened by new and radical ideas. His trade was a DONE DEAL. Now? Not so much, (as stated)
Bears were never in it so let's stop with putting them in here. they had nothing to offer and multiple sources said that.
as Peter King, yes he knows more than you..sorry, eloquently put the other day let's just say for example it's 3 1's. Houston would never agree to just 3 because any team getting him, outside of NY, will get better therefore making that pick less attractive. Houston wants players and draft capital and when I say players I am talking impact players. Only team IMO that makes sense now is NY. Darnold has to be in the trade and they get at least 4 1's in return.
Now with all this shit going on with him his price is going down fast and the question now is what does Houston do???

The risk is what are they paying him for what has been relatively no production the past two years? $$ numbers I have not heard.

Two is him now on roster going to take plays from Jefferson? Better not IMO. Also does this team have potentially something in Trishton Jackson that we now may not see?

Right again as usual? I’m still not bringing attention to myself on being correct that a certain player was movable but only if you included a 1st round pick. One should not be so full of themselves..................

And the “definitely” being dealt is sill not shared by all. Just one posters opinion...........

People just LOVE to complain. To the point of faulty reasoning clouding good judgment. As you say Cornell this signing is low-risk high-reward, and end of story. Nothing to see here.
And people love others to agree with them, including me, even when some don’t............

Paying him on a one year deal is a risk? Imo the reward is better than the risk on a one year deal.

Why you think he will take plays from VJ. They are two different type of wrs. If he is even able to take plays from wrs that means he is playing healthy and contributing. Thats a good thing.

No matter who the Rams brought in there was risk of taking away snaps from other wrs. Even if they simply resigned JR.

At least D Jack is the 4th wr, and brings a unique skillet.

Low risk high reward move imo
