Why was Colby Parkison's catch even questioned?
I saw the play live. I have seen the replay. I was surprised the catch was questioned let alone the TD. I guess you can say a knee was down at one us line but momentum took them into end zone. Sort of surprised there is controversy.

The explanation was that he didn't gain control of the ball until after he crossed the plain

How can that be you can’t even see the ball after he hits the ground

I have no answer for that. That was just the explanation. Maybe they had another angle that wasn't shown on the broadcast.. who knows.LARAMFAN52 wrote: ↑December 15th, 2025, 8:36 am How can that be you can’t even see the ball after he hits the ground

Two observations, obviously even if his he hits at the 1 and he slides into the end zone before getting touched (which I don't believe is the case here), its a TD. Secondly, Lions fans are saying this is the primary reason they lost which is just absurd.

It was clearly a catch. Maybe down at 1. And we woulda punched it in, so no way they lost from a bad call. If we end up losing, that bs call on Forbes was pretty suspect. Guy totally flopped on a soft touch.Slickjack wrote: ↑December 15th, 2025, 8:47 am Two observations, obviously even if his he hits at the 1 and he slides into the end zone before getting touched (which I don't believe is the case here), its a TD. There was a play I thought Forbes could have sealed the win with an INT in the endzone. Right in his hands and he just makes little effort to catch it. Wish I could see that play again.

How many dropped ints did the Rams backfield have in the game? 2? 3?RAMFAN71 wrote: ↑December 15th, 2025, 8:59 amIt was clearly a catch. Maybe down at 1. Re: Why was Colby Parkison's catch even questioned?
I agree. Amazing how Lions fans are crying about the call. They should be happy. It gave the Lions more time on the clock. If Parkinson is ruled down at the 1, the clock keeps ticking. If the Rams take more than one run play to score, the Lions would have lost minutes off the clock, so Rams win by 14 instead of 7Slickjack wrote: ↑December 15th, 2025, 8:47 am Two observations, obviously even if his he hits at the 1 and he slides into the end zone before getting touched (which I don't believe is the case here), its a TD. Rams would have scored anyway but I thought his knee was down. would have been 1st down on the 1 yrd line.

Re: Why was Colby Parkison's catch even questioned?
I thought it should have been down at the one. Yes, they surly would have punched it in. I will say this much, even though first and goal at the 1 is pretty much a given TD, if the tables had been turned, and the Lions scored on that play, all of us here would be as livid as the Lion fans are.
Im still amazed that they called it a score. Blandino said the only thing he could imagine was that he didn't gain control until crossing the plane. If that's the case, I think I saw the ball touch the ground as he was crossing the plane.
With all that said, I love the call!!

Re: Why was Colby Parkison's catch even questioned?
Basically it was like a receiver bobbling a ball into the endzone for a TD. It was just complicated because his knee touched the ground but he didn't have possession. There is evidence of the ball still moving in his hands before he crossed the line. There is no evidence (to my knowledge) that the ball ever hit the ground. No different than tipping a ball on the 1 yard line and coming down with it in the endzone.

Re: Why was Colby Parkison's catch even questioned?
I am glad we can all agree he caught the ball and worst case they are first and goal at the 1. On that third down before the PI on Brown, I do agree that Forbes could have easily had it. It did seem a little nonchalant but that kid will never pass on an int, not even in scrub time. As far as McCullough's drop that would have really sealed the deal and I was getting a flashback to bad Jared.
