QB Needs in the NFL

Post by ocram23 »

the List continues to grow with NFL teams. The Daniel Jones injury just added another team today. Question is now how many teams will be looking to draft a QB in the upcoming draft???
* Kyler Murray will be on a new team next year, is Indy that team?
* Jets/Browns/Colts/Raiders/Cardinals......this is who I are 100% drafting a QB
* Dolphins/Rams/Carolina/New Orleans/Vikings.....high chance of QB selection???
I could put in ATL in there but I think that is a big time guess.

thoughts????

Rams have to ride Stafford as long as he wants. Anyone else unless it’s burrow or Allen is a big downgrade.

I think every year there are 4-5 teams desperate for a QB. Would be nice to see Stafford stay at least 1 more year.

I am not sure what QB I would pick even if we had the #1 pick. I am not very impressed with this class. It will be interesting to see what QBs step up during the playoffs.

Achilles injury to Daniel Jones is huge. That is tough for a QB. I think Kyler Murray is gone. Will be interesting to see if anyone wants to pay his salary.

I don’t think Falcons will draft a QB with no 1st round picks.

Raiders need a QB bad.

Don’t forget Pitt. I would be surprised to see Rodgers play another year.

I don’t think I’d pick any QB in the NFL over Stafford. Allen is an athlete and playmaker but he’s not a better passer than Stafford. And there’s no reason to pick Burrow over Stafford

I’d love Burrow w McVay. My dream. Dude isn’t going to win on a garbage cheap org like cincy. Obv getting him would be impossible.

Agreed! The Bengals' passing game, spearheaded by Joe Burrow's aerial accuracy, is the only factor which keeps their team respectable, or at least semi-respectable.

Without Burrow, the Bengals as currently constituted would drop to near the bottom of the league... :shock: :wink: :mad:

RAM SEASON!!

great responses:
I think we all agree Stafford for another yr is ideal but that doesn't mean they don't draft a QB in round 1 to learn the system for a year
Burrow obviously would be ideal but it would take a truck load of picks to get him.....not happening IMO
Good point BD on Pittsburgh I forgot about them.
I liked what I saw last night out of Mendoza. I think he could be the 1st QB taken
IF NYG and Wash are 1/2 in the draft look for them to trade out...JMO

Murray is owed $53.2m next year and has a dead cap hit of $54.7 to AZ. He is only being traded not cut…………..

Who the hell would trade for him with that contract. GM should be fired if they did…………

Stafford IMO will be back next year. Maybe 2 years. I don’t think either first round pick will be used for a QB. But…………

I thought about it today how his family has been present at games on the road this year. Was this the case previous years? A bit interesting?………….

Saw this too… second or third time I’ve seen them at an away game, Kelly and all 4 girls.

My thoughts are same as yours… very interesting as I don’t recall them traveling w him on road games in past, especially this much …

If I’m a betting man, reading the tea leaves …well….

Yup. I won’t say it, because I can’t come to terms w it.

We're all spoiled to have had a warrior like Stafford leading the way. Because of that, we cant hide the fact that he IS on borrowed time.

Whether he retires after this season, or next, I hope that Mcvay sees a QB that he loves. The Rams will not be in a better position to grab the guy that takes the baton from MS as they will be in May.

Most likely a top 10 pick, and ammo to move up if he really loves a guy.

We would have to give away 3 first rounders to get him imo. But more importantly, Burrow would need to request a trade.

We would need to move one of our firsts to next year as Stafford is going nowhere next year so earliest is 2027.

me too about Mendoza but he has played pretty well all yr. I think most importantly he is a " safe " pick.....QB is the hardest position to evaluate.

I agree, but I don't think you make a "safe pick" with a top 5 pick. That would be end of 1st round or 2nd round. I think most analysts are giving most QBs a 2nd round grade knowing there will be some that go in the top 10. I would rather go BPA, WR, or OL with our pick versus a "safe QB". Of course, we might have to take some chances if Stafford retires. We could also use Jimmy G and Stetson as a stop gap.

Maybe at least 1 QB will shine during the playoffs. (We do not want Carson Beck not matter how good he looks in playoffs.)

JMO, but a fairly strong one, I want nothing to do with Mendoza in the 1st round…………….

Who is falling to the 2nd round? I’ll take that QB under McVay for a year or two sitting and watching………..

I probably do if I’m being honest. But I also feel I’m open minded to the fact that Cal wasn’t good when he was there/here and that wasn't all on him. And I’m also open minded he has been much better this year…………….

I’m just not a fan oc and I would like to think it is because of what ive watched not because I was pissed when he left Cal. Cal appears to have recovered from him leaving at the position. I just don’t think his skill set justifies a 1st round pick when looking at defenses at the next level. He, like most, will be a project that I don’t want to reach with a 1st round pick.

Beck has one of the better arms and skillsets. The elevator just doesn't quite go to the top. There is something missing and I can't put my finger on it. Not sure if it is a IQ thing or just no fire in his belly. We were all glad he left for Miami. Plus, he is one ugly dude....I thought QBs were at least supposed to represent the rest of us males. ;-)

unfortunately there are so many teams that are in dire need. He will be a top 5 pick guaranteed. Problem with that is they will rush him to play IMO.

No argument from me. I just don’t want it to be us with either 1st round pick. We have a great opportunity to really solidify this team with these 2 picks or get high enough with Atlanta’s and trade again to a needy team for a first(s) in 27…………

Exactly. I thought you were referring to him in previous post. Sadly, he had a lot of potential but is a head case. We know those don't usually work out in the NFL.

I wanted to add to my previous post that Cleveland may not draft one early if Sanders plays decent in these last 4 games against much better competition.

I wanted to add to my previous post that Cleveland may not draft one early if Sanders plays decent in these last 4 games against much better competition.

Speaking of Cleveland... remember Poster, Cleveland Ram? Wonder what happened to that dude... he was one odd duck, but def entertaining reading post.
Wow that go's back a bit..

* Kyler Murray will be on a new team next year, is Indy that team?
* Jets/Browns/Colts/Raiders/Cardinals......this is who I are 100% drafting a QB
* Dolphins/Rams/Carolina/New Orleans/Vikings.....high chance of QB selection???
I could put in ATL in there but I think that is a big time guess.

thoughts????

it is going to be very interesting to say the least. I think Cleveland can not go into next yr with Sanders as their 1. JMO...

I think we all know why Kelly does this......all about Kelly
