If Paxton Lynch is available do you take him?

Seems like Paxton Lynch is dropping in a lot of mock drafts. IF, he is really available when the Rams pick would you select him? I would prefer Goff or Wentz but due to the Rams need at the QB position (Unless, Mannion is further along than I think) I would hope the Rams pick him.

As a non draftnik, I'd say if he could come in and start immediately, yes.

But there's no way Fisher and Snead will (IMO) pick a guy who needs to sit for a year with how hot their seat now is.

No we have at least two Paxton Lynch's on the roster already. I'd rather go with Mannion

If Lynch is all that's available of the top 3 QB's at 15, i'd probably look to trade back a few picks and then go after him. Just stay ahead of Houston's pick. jmo.

Lynch is an intriguing prospect, rare to find the mobility that accompanies someone his size. This much is certain, seeing passing lanes should not be an issue at next level. Would like to see a little more zip on his throws however, not enamored by his arm, adequate but does not have WOW factor. Arm strength not an issue can make all the throws and can go deep no question, but velocity on throws average at best and a concern at next level. Watch tape of his throws versus Conner Cook's and make your own determination. When considering Rams going qb at 15 versus a trade up for a qb, think the quietness surrounding Conner Cook bodes well for Rams. Cook's arm is a plus. Played in and can make all of the throws required at next level. Big game experience in college (yes he lost the biggest one) but weekly Cook played in games that mattered throughout college career on big stage.

Have Cook 2 at the position this draft, behind Wentz.

depends on who else is still available. I'd personally rather have treadwell or ragland at #15, but I wouldn't complain if they took him there. If he's another mannion, then the Rams would be making a HUGE mistake imo if they take him over Treadwell/Ragland whom both would make a big impact from the start. Speaking of Mannion, anyone have inside information on him? He was a 3rd round pick after all

HellRam wrote:Lynch is turing into my favorite QB prospect for this year's draft. So yeah I would in a heartbeat. Lynch might be a feast or famine pick... but I'm fine with that. Rams need to roll the dice on a QB one of these years. Why not for a very talented player.
Starting to lean a little that way myself, more of a this kid has an unique combination of talents maybe never seen before. Little concerned about his velocity and accuracy at times but his talents are very unique. SI appears to have mocked him to Browns at 2 predicting they select him over Wentz and Goff

Pass-Too many quality plug and play prospects available at #15 to gamble on a QB with an average arm. Why has everyone given up on Mannion?

It's hard to say what I'd do without knowing who's gonna still be on the board (or on the Rams roster) but I'm guessing I would pass. IMHO, the kid would never see the field in 2016 unless injuries forced the other Rams QBs to the bench or IR. If I was gonna gamble on a QB that isn't likely to play, I'd roll the dice with Cardale Jones later in the draft and use that 1st rounder for a player who would start or at least play a lot this season. Don't think adding Lynch would help them win one game this year. Throw in the fact that this could be Fisher's last year and a new HC might prefer his own QB and I probably couldn't pull the trigger on PL. Personally, I can't see him getting past the Eagles anyway. If the Rams want one of the top 3 QBs, they'll probably have to trade up. JMO.

almost 6'7 250 lbs, huge hands ..very mobile inside the pocket, natural feel of pressure, pass rushers bounce off his body like they do with Roethlisberger..strong arm with a career 63% rate and 67% as a junior

actually anti Mannion as a prospect...Mannion is a below avg athlete Lynch a very good athlete
Mannion had a losing record..Lynch won 19 games in his last 2 years
Mannion a 4 year starter at a top D1 school Lynch from Memhis coming out as a junior

IMO lynch is a top 5 pick..only question is he played in a spread and struggled on mid range completion %. Scouts will have to decide if the low % was because of Lynch or his below avg skill players...seriously doubt he falls to the rams
