don't get pulled into the doom and gloom crowd...if you aren't making all the moves to win the big prize then you are in it for draft capital and cap space...this ain't the 'Four Pillars' team anymore...bottom line they gave up nothing for OBJ...

Anything short of a SB appearance is a disappointment.
Anything short of the NFC title game would be a absolute failure.
as it should be...this ain't the fricking 9-7 Fisher team anymore...how long do you think number 99 will be top of his game...let's stop handwringing and win the Lombardi now! just don't understand the thinking of 'anything short of a SB appearance is a disappointment' well duh!

You're kidding right????
Just like 2018 was Superbowl or bust. This team is that category. Hell, last year we made it to the divisional round and many posters like yourself were upset we didn't go father. So why now is that irrelevant?
I'm not one to complain about not making the Superbowl. I've never complained before and I'm not going to start. But lets call a spade a spade....this team has Superbowl aspirations and anything short of the NFC title game is a failure. Anyone with rational thinking should be able to understand such.
would you rather follow a team the does not have 'Superbowl aspirations'...is that more 'rational' to you??? There are plenty of those around for the choosing...

I think TB would have more pressure to get back with Brady.
I think the Rams season would be a disappointment, but not a failure if they lose a championship game.
As far as losing a SB, the goal is to GET there. After that you take your chances.

What does that have to do with anything I said?
I guess I should expect the Rams to lose every week like you
I have no idea what are talking about and apparently you don't either...like most on this board I will choose not to engage with you...a lot of heat with you but no light...

Just curious, does the franchise fold if that doesn't happen? Majority of the roster is signed up and in relative decent position from an age standpoint. There's always the risk of a drop off or injury. Their window isn't 1 year, it's just perceived that way because of where the SB is.
Who said anything about a 1 year window?
But if you can't understand this team is loaded for certain this year. Why shouldn't we expect a NFC title game?
It's obvious what you guys are doing. You guys are so invested in Stafford/Goff nonsense you guys can no longer be intellectually honest.
It's rather hilarious coming from you guys because all you did in the past is the exact opposite of what you preach now.
As for me....Goff/Stafford my expectations remain the same. Because I'm a Rams fan ;)
How does one get the franchise "folding" out of the "season" was a failure"

Most on the board??? No it just a handful of the same guys who can't get the best of him in debate... they cry and put him on ignore... like todays supposed real men do i guess
I happen to like the guy because he doesn't take shite from that crowd...

Okay, we're all in on the superbowl.
What remains to be seen is if the one new shiny receiver toy is the final piece. If we even need a final piece
And if the new toy really is all that shiny and does it push us over the top or weigh us down.
Whatever the outcome, it won't be uneventful.

I just read a story on a post by Akers himself, that wouldn’t it be something if he returned this year…
Hmm

I think Sr. is more of a concern than Jr.
Someone should tell his dad nothings up to him and that he would be the biggest help by not helping.
Not hard to see where Jr gets it from....

That's absolutely fine. We're supposed to have different opinions. Dont understand the notion we all should think the same.
We, it's not all that uncommon a belief over human history, that "loyalty = orthodoxy," and it certainly is applied by many people within sports fandom.
However, I'm in agreement with you on both postseason advancement by our team and on having "different opinions" from other fans. If the Rams don't at the very least advance past the divisional round of the NFC playoffs this time, then they would have achieved no better postseason success than last year's team.
Honest civil disagreements are to be expected and even welcomed, however I don't bother with any of the *ad hominem* BS... ;) 8-)

Oline was top 3 in NFL before Sunday night for 8 games they had a bad night that doesn't maake them bad all of a sudden. This team is loaded all over Defense even without Von was starting to gell in fact without refs and the two big offensive mistakes played well and really gave up 7 points.

When I look at our team now to me it looks and feels stronger, in terms of the talent onboard, than when we were last in the SB. Remember luck also got us to that SB by way of some dodgy officating.
Dodgy officiating played its part in our loss against the Titans. Would we have won it without it, maybe.. no one really knows for sure either way. However, what we need to do is try and take any form of luck out of the equation and just get our business done week in week out. Luck goes both ways and is not trustworthy.

Jags beat the Bills. Fins just beat the Ravens. Broncos just crushed Dallas. This is the NFL where anyone can win if 1 side executes and the other does not. So yeah, I will be REALLY upset if we exit early in playoffs- or worse. But would not be surprised. Remember we are NOT the team to beat right now despite a couple new guys who have yet to contribute. I just hope its all gels and the team stays healthy here on out. OBJ taking time from VJ stinks for his development, but if he can still make plays like a pro bowler....fine by me. I have not seen him make any highlight reels in a while- and the Browns are a good team.

If OBJ fills the role DJ was supposed to and probably will do it better than DJ ever could and then if Von Miller makes our defense a fearsome beast and if Stafford plays great and stays healthy and if we don't run into a frozen tundra game and if we don't run into a 50 point outburst from TB or AZ in the playoffs-I guarantee we will win the F-in Super Bowl!!!!!!

One plus if we do have to go to GB again this year in the post season is MS9 has played in that environment often during his 12 years playing in the Black and Blue Division, 4 city's among the coldest places to play, so that shouldn't be a problem...
