Why do we always kick off into the endzone?

Is McVay afraid of our kickoff coverage. We rarely start on the 35 when the opponent kicks off. This usually is a net 5-10 yards based on where we start vs the Seahawks starting at the 35.

The best excuse I can come up with is Prevent KO's? They can't run them back for a TD.??

Evans and Thicker Kicker cannot angle kick.
Karty can angle kick and kick knuckle balls, it was his specialty

Because we have no Special Teams coverage.

Maybe they need to fire the STs coach.

Give Karty a roster spot then and let him kickoff. It's worth it. Letting the opponent start at the 35 yard line every time is madness.

After that Mevis miss under pressure, I'm ready to give Karty another shot. At least Karty can do kickoffs.

That would be an intelligent decision. Unfortunately,
We have a fucking moron for a ST teams coach.

Seems like a mandate from McVay. Doubt Evans is just booting it thru end zone because he has no control

Same guy that averaged 38.8 yards on 4 punts yesterday and also holds for Mevis/Karty, the guys that missed FG 's with the game on the line!

A couple of 1st downs and teams with strong legged kickers are already in field goal range. We also employ a bend/don’t break defensive scheme which isn’t something you should be doing with this kickoff strategy.

This is so egregious. Psychologically starting on the 35 vs the 25 or less which is what the Rams were starting with. It makes a difference and you saw that last night.

Totally agree. The 30 was bad enough in previous seasons and the 25 back in the day making a team travel 75 yards.
Every single kickoff we never started at the 35 we started between the 25 and 32 netting Seattle 3 - 10 yards compared to them always starting at the 35 i just don't get it.
