We've proven as an organization we can handle dealing out #1's and if we can get Joe Burrow with Puka, Devante and our line and RB's. Lord have mercy and katy bar the door. Look out dynasty.
Let the bidding war begin.

Stafford has to retire first. Joe did this a year or two early for the Rams, unfortunately. Otherwise you could probably bet your last dollar that the Rams would be in on this.
This is kinda reminding me of Andrew Luck.

Obviously with the Stafford situation it's dicey but it's something that's potentially on the table. I believe Burrow would jump in a heartbeat at a chance to play for us. How bad are the Bengals when they've had 4 years to fix the Oline and they can't.

Does anyone actually think before posting such? 2nd thread that is basically………..
First of all does someone really think Stafford is leaving with him under contract for 26?…………
Second say he does retire do we realize that is a $41.8 cap hit next year? Then we are going to take on Burrows $48m contract for 26? $90M just for the QB position in 26. And we give up 3 first round picks!……………..
Sure Stafford could retire, doubt he does, and sure who wouldn’t want Burrows, but if you were taking on that much cap space for one position next year well a hell of a lot of really good players won’t be here next year.
Now 2027 ok much different……………

Yes it has to be 2027 and here is my view on what needs to happen:
We need to plan ahead by shifting a 1st to next year
We need a cheaper option at number 2 QB in 2027 (starting next year with Stetson)
We need to offload dead contracts: Havs, Higs, Tutu and maybe Adams
We need to plan ahead for those changes in the next draft
We need to avoid any long term FA hires next offseason
We will need to offer 3 firsts for Burrow which will mean 2 in 2027 and 1 in 2028.
I do think Burrow is the only QB out there other than Josh Allen worth it.. Lamar is great but feels like the next Cam Newton (trajectory wise) and Mahones is just not the same.

Other than the 2027 comment, I don’t agree with much else……..
First of all this team is about winning period, especially in 26, if Stafford is this team’s QB. All moves this off season for 26 should be about a roster again ready to win…..
Again as mentioned before whether you keep or cut Higbee he will count $2.1m against cap. There is no savings. Havs counts $4.1m after June 1st cut. More if before. There is no complete”off load” with either.
Atwell is a FA. There is no contract to “off load”…..
No way n hell I cut Adam’s if you mean this off season. What does his contract next year have anything to do with 2027? And his DC hit in 27 is another the same of $4m on roster or not on roster. There is no savings……..
In order to trade Burrows, Cincy will want to do it post June 2027. $20.7 cap hit compared to $35.7m cap hit before 6/1. Well after the 27 draft. Would a team trading for him wait until then?…………
And if Stafford get another bump in pay after the season he is currently having………….

Burrow I have felt is our QB of future but this won’t happen. Cincy won’t trade him. Revisit this next year when Cincy invariably will be shit again and Burrow fed up and Stafford likely last year.
QBs don’t like getting beat up and McVay’s system is QB friendly. Saw Baker Mayfield get sacked repeatedly last night. Guy looks like a different QB than last couple years. Beat up.

We currently have the a top 3 QB who is prob good for 2026. So this is just early. On another note- you mentioned QB friendly the Rams are. Goff is putting up better numbers than Staff- although close. We have a ring, so there's that. But I think it's pretty weird how good Goff is now. We drafted the right guy. For some reason he fizzled here. It's strange. He looked pretty cooked when McVay said enough.....

Because I think ram33 has a history in here of not posting ridiculous threads and his comments may be simply not having a full knowledge of the cap for both teams over the next 2 years…………
Now one can say any thread started by holding, safety blitz, or whatever the bleep he calls himself are 100% all the time the definition of ridiculous but some still feel a need to respond to his absolutely 100% ridiculous threads…………….
Damn proud of myself I didn’t pull the ridiculous “freedom of speech” comment in my reply here……………

My entire thoughts were about 2027 and preparing for that. I looked at the Cap and we have a number of players falling off (higs, Adams etc) but equally a lot of Rookies coming off rookie contracts.
I assumed Stafford is around next year so no change next year and imo we have a great opportunity to win it all next year if we don't this year.
I don't understand the negativity, Rams have been win now and not a long term rebuilding team so why would they draft a QB and take a risk especially if they have the pieces in place to be very competitive.
They will ride Stafford or trade for a vet in 2027. My bet is Burrow as it has been for a long time.. To me he is the perfect McVay QB.
Given their history, I just don't see them drafting a QB in round 1.
They do need to draft for the potential cliff in 2027 so that means WR, TE and DL and ofcourse for immediate needs CB and OL depth.

Again neither Havs or Adams is owed $ by the Rams if not on roster in 27 but they both have a dead cap hit if not on the roster. Havs $2.8m and Adams $4m. Not a lot but they are not “falling off”…………….
Stafford has a dead cap hit through 2029 if not on roster………….
Sure I can agree Mcvay would like a vet like a Burrows when Stafford finally leaves. But not that easy for Burrows. It isn’t happening next year one would think so if Cincy wanted to trade him forget this team. After that:
Burrows is owed $51m, $53m, n $57m from 27-29. He will be 31 during the 27 season. He has had some significant injuries. Not sure I’m that excited paying him that kind of $ at 31-33. I ‘m certainly not excited in giving up 3 first round draft picks. One may be paying him what he has done not what he may do. Cincy yes I see the justification. Other teams………….

2020: Torn ACL/MCL/PCL/Meniscus (missed rest of season)
•2021: Dislocated pinky
•2022: MCL sprain
•2023: Torn wrist ligament (missed rest of season)
2025: Grade 3 turf toe (out 3 months)
And this is just NFL.

Burrows contract is back ended.. should be open to extension and reduction from 2027 onwards.
Anyway, great to speculate on possibilities.
