Not enough pressure, lackluster schemes, crappy piss poor tackling...ineffective blitzes....

The o is our salvation.

Oh Blitz….im assuming you posted this after Cards first drive?.

Have you not learned, Rams usually let teams somewhat drive how they want first drives, so they can get a feeling and want to see the schemes?.

Since then, how we looking?

Patience is literally a virtue. Try it out

I can relate to what the poster is saying : forget the score all of the elements of the D noted are accurate. This D has glaring issues that may be the Rams undoing - not doomsayers nor negative fans or whatever else you want to call it when a declining failing D is called out. CB are really awful but the scheme being called is just as bad. Our pass rush has definitely declined and may also cost us.

Don’t get me wrong, our defense has its issues. DL isn’t at its best, DB’s are garbage… LB are fine. But they have done an overall good job. Shula loves the prevent soft Defense and I think he does this to compensate for how bad our corners are. Not sure.

Sorry but great O we have does not do a thing to explain or make excuse for this Defense - Seattle & Carolina games show what this bend but don’t break D philosophy can do by side lining our O ?

DB’s aren’t All Pros but definitely not garbage. No great players but it’s more about the sum of all. Soft coverages when you’re up big is actually a good strategy. Rams defense is dependent on the Rams offense which is pretty good. They play complimentary defense and excel when they’re playing with a lead. That being said best defense is a top tier offense. Run the ball. Control the clock. Score TD’s. You’re defense gets much better with a lead.

Rushing 4 is not fruitful. Need to blitz more like when cb today sacked qb late.

But that’s sort of the issue, we tend to soft coverages when we aren’t up big.

I agree here - soft pitch and catch to protect poor CB play keeps opposing O units on the field and our O watching. Unless you have an advantage on the scoreboard it does not play out to your advantage.

Actually not being aggressive rushing the QB causes long drives and eats up the clock, and forces the cbs to cover longer, resulting in keeping our offense off the field so I disagree with this type of defense. By this defensive style the cbs look worse then they are because in the last 4 games we have had 1 or 2 sacks some of those came with us a lot and game out of reach which is an obvious passing situation due to score. The DL must get more pressure on the qb.

I really loved seeing Desjuan Johnson active instead of Ty Hamilton. Johnson was much more effective in preseason, too, but Hamilton wasn’t Mr. Irrelevant. Keep using Johnson! He’s a force. Hamilton isn’t there yet.
