At this point nobody really knows whether we got the BPA or not but I am happy to see that we hit most of our positions of need. We got a TE, ILB, RB and WR. Plus we picked up a rotational DT and Edge rusher.

I still don't understand why we passed on all the CB's.

I just feel like Alexander or Ramsey is gonna be a Ram. OR Forbes is coming along more than we know. Which is very possible

WR is just meh. But I like the rest. Paul is a better prospect than Ernest Jones. Now we see if he will be a better pro.

Definitely "or both" I can't argue that

It certainly seems to be shaking out that way.

I think the only thing I would have changed was instead of drafting Ferguson we drafted OT Ersery in round 2 and then come back in round 4 and selected Helm TE Texas. He graded out very similar to Ferguson.
I obviously trust McSnead but I just do not believe that drafting a RB was something that was of need. Getting a talented OT like Ersery and still getting a much needed TE was a better way to go IMO.

I think that will be tricky now. They've got to now be thinking about next years draft. They already gave up a 4th, and "IF" the big plan is to trade up for a QB, it could cost them another 3 picks to do that. All the more reason that we need Atl to really crash and burn this season. To have Atl pick be a top 3 would be like Xmas morning!

I think of it like this... Snead and Co. Found their current LT as a UDFA... (i had a 3rd rnd grade on him.. but I digress) Point is that they know a lot more than we do. I believe their point in this draft was that the offense was too slow last season .. they dump Kupp.. Bringing in Adams. They draft a move TE and a similar, but faster RB. One with the break away speed Williams doesnt have.It takes a RB generally half a season or more to get the protection scheme down. Reading between the lines suggest KW might not be getting a contract extension... or is asking too much.. Warning to agent...

I’m with the OP on not really knowing how this class shakes out for another year. The sequence of events was surreal to me in some ways. The first trade I really felt we could’ve held on to our third round pick and then I would’ve been much happier with the deal. The positions we selected were all areas we need depth and the potential for solid starters in the next 1-2 years. I’m just not that familiar with them to get hyped.

I would be curious to know what kind of influence Gladstone had on our most recent drafts. Was he merely providing input on the strategy or weighing in on the selections themselves. While the last couple of drafts have been great there were also some clunkers in the years prior. Are player selections heavily weighted on scout evaluations or did Gladstone have a significant role in the decision making to some extent.

I agree that it really feels like Ramsey is hot on our list. Personally, I would spice up the deal with an extra or better future pick to have them pick up salary from his contract. I would also be leery of him wanting an extension or raise and would have to get that determined before executing a deal. The salary piece is key to me because we need cap flexibility to fill gaps and improve some of our starting positions on a YOY basis or if we need to trade for a qb should we not get a blue chip in next years draft.

They certainly earned my trust these past two draft classes and hope we get three solid contributors out of this class.

Enjoy your Sunday everyone.

I hope they don't trade for Ramsey , not to mention sweetening the pot. We all got a taste of the limitations as a result of trading draft picks away. Already short a 4th, and unknown if, or how many we'll need to trade for a move to draft a QB.

The position of need we missed was OT. We should have grabbed someone. Hope these UDFAs can fill the back-up bill.

shocked they didn't address this in the draft. long shot to have an UDFA come in and perform at a high level. rarely happens
