We had bigger needs at CB and ILB. After Sherzinger got taken the LBs were thin but Knight Jr. was there, but several really good CBs were left in Johnson & Amos both much bigger needs. Reason I say this there is Fannin Jr. (crushed this 2024 season).
Never heard about Ferguson, good Senior Bowl, runs routes great, catches everything but scouts say he can't block they say basically a pure pass catcher. Rams TEs must block. I hope we don't regret passing on Johnson or Amos. I know Johnson has possible long term medical issues but Amos doesn't.

I think McShay knows his shit and he loved Knight Jr. I think we have talked about this the Rams just don't value LB's for some reason. It was pretty clear they were going offense with their 1st pick. I trust what they are doing. now McVay just needs to figure out a way to get Ferguson some catches

They have had some pretty good drafts lately but I don't completely trust them. Sometimes when things go well, people's heads get too big and it backfires. We have NEEDS that we still have not filled yet. I guess they have a bunch of hidden gems that only they know about for round 6. SMFH

Well okay, don't you think that was the point with Ferguson?? They have 3 other TE that block.. I think we all can agree that the Rams lacked speed on offense.. they just added a match up problem with opposing LBs and Safeties. Something they hadn't really had since Pete Holohan. I'm not joking, it's been that long. Again, I think this is a good move...

So, we here at my house love comedy of any sort... That said... I have to ask this question.. If Ferguson is any good like I at least think he is... Does he get the nickname "Turd"??

Like the Ferguson pick.Snead took several looks at him and he knew that he wouldn’t be on the board when the Rams drafted in the 3 rd. Dynamic player good 40 time and short areas quickness. Offense has a new dynamic threat.

Feels like taking Tutu when Creed Humphrey was on the board all over again. You are choosing to take a low snap count toy over a high snap count starter

For a Rams fan of my lengthy pedigree, it's somewhat surreal to hear the announcers repeatedly referring to 'Gabriel' passing to Terrance Ferguson.
It's rather like traveling back in time around fifty-five years... 8-) :P

If Terrance Ferguson ends up being employed as sparingly as Tutu Atwell (who was also supposed to bring receiving speed to our team's "O") has been, then your feeling will turn out to be 100% correct... :? :( :|

Ferguson will get at a minimum the 2nd highest amount of snaps for this team in 25 at TE. And will lead this team at snaps at the position for years starting in 26.
Some of you need to have watched Oregon football the last few years…….

Looks like a check down to first down machine. Big body, decent speed, good hands, with a little bit of YAC and blocking mixed in. Having another big target in the end zone will make Staff happy. Color me intrigued.

Yeah, I think this pretty much sums up how I look at him also.
Nobody can say it's a "bad" pick, because we haven't seen anything yet. It seems the Rams are big on drafting guys that fit the team rather than picking guys that others think are better players...and that's fine, because I remember back years ago when the Rams drafted Karracker DT - he was a 3-4 guy that the Rams tried to fit into their 4-3 defense. That just didn't work out. Good player - bad fit.

Agree. We were lacking that 3rd down conversion guy who can be Stafford security blanket. Kupp was that guy. Now Puka. Gotta take that pressure away and give the D ANOTHER threat to worry about. I am warming up to this pick. And he has speed and hands. Big YAC guy. Again, I just hope he shows he is #1 TE over Higs at week 1.

I'm warming up to this pick too. I trust McVay and Snead.

I would have preferred a trade back for Gunnar Helm but he looks ok... I think at least he can relieve Higbee of he goes down.
