If 2nd best QB why would he drop to 26th?

Cosell knows his shit and I do like Shough a lot. I would not be pissed if they drafted him at 26.BrooklynRam74 wrote: ↑April 12th, 2025, 10:14 amBecause he's not the CONSENSUS 2nd Best Quarterback. That would be Shadeur Sanders, and Jaxson Dart is 3rd and Jalen Milroe might be 4th.
So Shough WILL be there at 26. I personally never seen Shough play, I'm just going off the testimonials of the 2 guys in football media whose opinion I respect the most, Louis Riddick and Greg Cosell, who both absolutely love Shough and declare will be a steal.
Well, I will say this. I'm sure all those boys forgot more than I know about college QB evaluations!BrooklynRam74 wrote: ↑April 12th, 2025, 2:49 pmWho needs NFL ready? We HAVE Matthew Stafford for 1-2 (or 3) more years. I hear what you're saying 08, but you have to take it up with Messrs Cosell, Riddick, and McShay, who will surely refute all your concerns. These are the top Quarterback evaluators. Now of course, McVay and Snead have to feel the same.Ramsfan08ny wrote: ↑April 12th, 2025, 2:02 pm I don't know. I love his size, and mobility, but i just cant get past his resume. For a guy who has 6 years of college experience , he never really took the bull by the horn for any of the teams he's played with. I would think if he were the most NFL ready he would have had a more dominating season last year.
one thing that does scare me about him is he only really played 1 yr. Every time I think of that I go back to Trey Lance. Granted Lance didn't play against the competition Shough did, which is huge, but still only 1 yr. I also think the more I listen to McShay and company I think he will be there in the 2nd round so maybe you trade into the 2nd to get him IF they really like him. Personally I would not do thatBrooklynRam74 wrote: ↑April 12th, 2025, 2:49 pmWho needs NFL ready? We HAVE Matthew Stafford for 1-2 (or 3) more years. my comment on this is what if Stafford goes down with a serious injury next yr??? You never know. How old was Kurt Warner when he took over?GlendoraRam wrote: ↑April 16th, 2025, 11:09 am He has played allot more football than Lance. But, you are correct.
After I posted this, I thought more about his age. He is 26, probably wouldn’t see the field until he is 28.
Obviously, I should rethink my endorsement -![]()
Old? He's not a WR. Old doesn't mean much with QB's. But when they lose it, they lose it. He should have at LEAST 8 years in the league. Injuries? Well, he plays football, so...
I'll say/ask this again - last year was one of the best QB classes coming into the NFL I've ever seen...yet who was available to the Rams at pick #19? That's right, they were all gone. So yeah, this next year's "much better" QB class, who do you like at selection 26-32 for the Rams? Point being, what exactly are you realistically waiting for if you think a legit QB starter (be it Shough or anyone else) is available for the Rams this draft?
That's my point, that if the guy is a decent prospect, he almost certainly won't be available to the Rams at #26 overall this year.RamPower wrote: ↑April 16th, 2025, 2:05 pmI'll say/ask this again - last year was one of the best QB classes coming into the NFL I've ever seen...yet who was available to the Rams at pick #19? But Campbell with a recent torn labrum is a ok……….
thank youNorCal RF wrote: ↑April 16th, 2025, 2:50 pmBut Campbell with a recent torn labrum is a ok……….
Slough’s injuries, other than his broken fibula, have been to his non-throwing arm. And he played the entire season last year.
I’m not saying I want him but you are really inconsistent in how you view players. If Campbell is ok to draft then Slough should be also. If Slough isn’t ok to draft based on past injuries then Campbell……………

Regarding the 2026 NFL draft, we don't know how many teams will be targeting the purportedly much stronger and deeper QB class to obtain potential long-term starters, nor do we know what our team's options to acquire one of them will end up being.
I don't really follow college football, however based on what I've found out, Tyler Shough didn't enjoy an impressive collegiate career... :? :( ;)
RAM SEASON!!

Agreed! Anyway, given how QBs are so overvalued in the NFL draft, I'm figuring that, despite their flaws, the supposed top four (Cam Ward, Shedeur Sanders, Jalen Milroe & Jaxson Dart) will have been taken by our team's #26 overall selection in tomorrow's first round.Bulldawg wrote: ↑April 23rd, 2025, 11:27 am
I don't have a strong opinion either way...Shough, Dart, etc. I don't like the idea of our 1st rounder being a QB. We have a QB for the next 2 years. We need someone that can help us get to the SB and not someone that has a 50% chance of success in 3 years.
