The Rams were clearly the better team tonight. That garbage illegal man down field penalty was the difference. I'm not scared of going into Seattle in the playoffs.
That was a horrible call. Not a penalty. The defender threw Dedich. Took away four points.

terrible call I agree
it's insane most of the questions McVay had to answer tonight after the game were about Puka.....

Wasn't there a whistle on the first 2 pt. conversion? I thought I heard a whistle, which is why everyone stopped playing.
according to Al Michaels there was no whistle. I think when watching games I hear a whistle all the time.
Reminds me of my days playing… coach always screams PLAY TILL YOU HEAR THE WHISTLE. And the worst part, these are professional players, yet they all just stopped when the play was still live

agree I know my coaches used to tell us that every day but they are playing in Seattle which is very loud.....like McVay said after the game " I have never seen a play like that ever."
100% there's a whistle, after the ball hits the ground and before Charbonnet picks it up. That ball is dead. Rams need to appeal (or whatever it is they can do to contest).
Whistle is at 0:05, ball is picked up at 0:07 of video. Ball is DEAD.

I never seen that either. It was just a fluke. Most players assume tipped balls are incomplete passes. Every player on the field thought it was

There definitely was a whistle, so I can understand why they stopped. Even Charbonet was nonchalant picking up the ball. Couldn’t they have been appealed?
However, I can’t understand why the defense seemed to stop playing on that long Shaheed sweep, like they assumed it was a Seattle penalty. That was really lame.

Lack of leadership on the defensive side. We haven’t had real leadership on that side since AD retired.
Still think Shula is all that great?

We had 166 more yards, we had the ball for 14 minutes longer, we won the TO battle 3-0, and the Sack Battle 4-0.
No way we should have lost this game let alone been in OT.
The same shit every time we lose... ST's and soft Defense.
Lets hear some more talk about Shula and a HC job now...
NOW , remember I thought that the first game seattle outplayed us and they deserved to win that one ? today was the complete opposite , we crushed them , played much better and still lost . St's and soft defense did it again , yup.

What about that " fumble " recovery that gave them 2 extra points ? NOT sure which one was worse....

I DO hope Shula gets a HC gig at this point ....
If he does, does McVay have the sense to hire a defensive coordinator that will challenge him? I seriously doubt that.

I remember that we used to complain about MOrris soft prevent shit all the time too . I am starting to think that this is the way MCVAY wants the defense to play . Not sure how much input he has over this but he is the HC after all ....

Several of the holding calls were also very questionable. The announcers were especially horrible in not questioning calls that they would replay. I know it’s out of their hands, but it was strange. It was also strange how insistent Michaels was that there was no whistle on the bizarre 2-pointer when there clearly was.
It also drove me nuts listening to him talk about Stafford locking up the MVP and the Rams going to 12-3. At least he got Whittington’s name right this time.

They had long overcome the downfield penalty to the tune of 30-14 in the 4th Q with 9 minutes to go after Kobie picked Darnald off on our 1.
ST's let them return our ensuing punt for a TD and it put us on our heels.
A ST's holding penalty on their ensuing KO on Sean Dolac negated Rivers KR to the Rams 49, pushed them back to their 20.
Then a missed 43 yard FG with just over 2 minutes left and 8 consecutive KO touchbacks to the 35.
A punter that averaged a measly 38.8 yards on 4 punts, 3 of them, on consecutive series, in Q 4, who lost the inside the 20 battle 3-1.
Point is, that 1st Q penalty didn't cost us the game. Consistently poor ST's play and weak second half/OT Defense did.
We gave up 31 points in the 2nd half + 1 OT possession.

Just one correction , it was a 48 fg attempt . It looked like it was going in and then , all of a sudden it went right ...I guess it was the wind . Not blaming Mevis here .... Our punter , in the other hand , is terrible.

The only counter to your premise is the guy or gal sweeping the floor does not need to be smarter than anyone. Not a slam on sweeping the floor guy, but if he is a genius you will be hiring another sweep guy in a week or two.
