Bottom post of the previous page:
Yeah its coach speakidahoramfan wrote: ↑October 29th, 2021, 2:36 pm More COACHSPEAK. McVay basically says in the presser "I should have done a better job calling plays to get him the ball and I'm the only one to blame".
DUDE. Either you want to get him the ball and you call plays for it or you don't think his playcalls are as effective and you don't call them. YOU'RE making the calls. He's speaking out of both sides of his mouth. What's new.
He did the same with TG. Had some thinking that TG still had something left in the tank but he wasn't running him enough. In actuality he knew TG career was pretty much over and didn't want to mess up any trade value he might have had. Despite Mcvay acting job we eventually we found out that his trade value was 0 and his legs are shot.

The reason we don't run the jet sweep much now is because Stafford doesn't like running it. McVay would prefer to keep it.NorCal RF wrote: ↑October 29th, 2021, 2:21 pm Again sorry could not disagree more……..
Absolutely no you don’t give VJ less snaps in order to get Jackson on the field more………..
Every team in this league for 2 years now has game planned for that jet sweep from this team. How long ago was Austin a Ram? There is a reason why McVay doesn’t run it much anymore………
Do you really think he was going to be happy returning punts….…..
McVay’s job is not to keep a 4th receiver happy at this level…………
The risk here is if one of the top 3 goes down. But again his job was to stay ready as veteran receiver not b$&@% because he wasn’t playing much on a 6-1 team……..

Re: DeSean Wants Out
A little disappointing. You would think he would understand it is a long season, not to mention a viable chance to get a ring.
I doubt we will get anything other than a 7th rounder for him, if we are lucky. I say cut him if we can’t find a trade partner. We don’t need the ME attitude. It is nice having him as depth but not worth him complaining g every week.

Re: DeSean Wants Out
Yeah, I think that if they dont come to a in house solution that all are happy with, then he will be cut. It certainly doesnt sound like Sean was willing to expand Jacksons role which led to this point. And that might be some defiant ego on Sean's part. But also you cant have players getting their way either, otherwise you would see more of this. So I get that too.DMRamFan wrote: ↑October 29th, 2021, 1:12 pm After reading this article below... It seems everywhere DJ goes, he gets released. Sure its money saving for each team to cut him, but what does it say that NO team wants to keep him?
Hmmm. I guess im glad he is going if he wasnt mixing well w the team. Just really odd to me if HE wanted out in the sense of chasing a ring... sounds like he is chasing to be more in the spot light and maybe extra cash. Plus we prob traded him just in time before he goes out on IR... again.
https://nfltraderumors.co/rams-wr-desea ... eek-trade/
Also, just caught McVay's press conference he wrapped up about an hour ago. Boy, he is NOT happy with DJ. Something happened. Who knows. But he sounds like he's DONE w him. We all know Sean, and we all know when he's annoyed.
*He also said that DJ will NOT suit up nor play against the Texans, guessing he wont even travel w the team from the sound of this presser.
I have one lingering question to all this... What happens if they cant find a trade partner? Sounds like Sean would just cut him... after this interview.

Re: DeSean Wants Out
I can’t blame McVay at all for sitting him Sunday if he expressed that he wanted to be somewhere else. You can’t let someone who says they don’t want to be there play.
Very strange - drafting a tiny speedster with their top pick just after acquiring DJax and then grab two more receivers…..
And the returning top three getting almost all the snaps (understandably so).
Interesting too about Jackson looking to go someplace else. I heard an interview today and some NFL honk was saying the Packers should try to acquire Brandin Cooks for the rest of the season. Maybe it will be DJax.

Re: DeSean Wants Out
Ego on Sean part? You can't have the 4th wr controlling your team and offense. Desean, OBJ etc are all the same. There's a reason why other teams moved on from D Jack. He is a diva and a me person.CierraRam wrote: ↑October 29th, 2021, 5:16 pmYeah, I think that if they dont come to a in house solution that all are happy with, then he will be cut. Jackson has been a cancer everywhere he has been. Get rid of him and pick up some defense.

Yes VJ is good. The rams wrs core is the least of the rams problems.therealheadslap75 wrote: ↑October 29th, 2021, 1:39 pm Well I’m not going to blindly back the coach
Why the F didn’t they target him more, why do we have to sit in 11 personnel all year again
We got F$&ing Stanford to go deep, Why are we playing the same offense we played 3 years ago
Is Van Jefferson so essential that we can’t get DJax more targets?
What about Higbee, why can’t he get more targets, the dude is a stud McVay keeps him average
Don’t get me wrong we are 7-1, it’s hard to argue with that but if we are going to be 75% Kupp all year it’s gonna be hard to change that when it gets shut down and it will get shut down when we play better teams
Jackson had less than 2 targets a game, I’d be pissed too
Just stupid
Desean have done this at every stop. Desean hasn't won squat despite playing on multiple teams and being in the league forever. Mcvay been coaching for just 4 years and already have multiple playoff wins and a SB appearance and you blame Mcvay?
Come on, look at D Jack track record. Look at what he did in Tampa and previous locations. Him a OBJ are both highly talented but are divas.
Stafford has a connection with Kup, what are you going to do? Tell him not to throw it to him.
He's selfish and needs to go.

Yes Jefferson is that essential. The kid can flat out play and is showing it……….
We complain about Kupp’s targets but do we pay attention what is going on with other teams? GB who gets most of the targets…….Adams…… AZ……..Hopkins……. KC……… Hill n Kelce………… Buffalo………. Diggs…… Samuel, Moore…………. Elite receivers get the ball period and they certainly do before 34 year old “me” receivers……..
Stupid…………..

Re: DeSean Wants Out
You cant use the Desean the way the rams used Austin. The dude is a walking injury and you want him getting handoffs and toss plays? You dont know how much is enough for Desean. He was playing alot of snaps in Tampa and cried bc he wasn't getting enough catches.therealheadslap75 wrote: ↑October 29th, 2021, 2:09 pmCome on NorCal, reading comp man, I wasn’t making the statement that van Jefferson is not important I was making the statement that we could afford to give DeSean Jackson a couple of his targets, if he had 4 less this season would we be worse off?NorCal RF wrote: ↑October 29th, 2021, 1:51 pm Why the hell cater to to a 34 year old 4th receiver………

McVay got the rock in Tavon Austin’s hands as a running back or on the jet sweep you mean to tell me we couldn’t have taken away a possession from Sony Michel and given it to fu$&@ing DeSean Jackson, We needed TuTu Atwell to return punts when we had DeSean Jackson?
Good players have pride, woods got cranky And McVay was on the podium talking about how he needed to get him the ball and the next game he did
My feeling is if he got DeSean one and a half more touches a game we wouldn’t be dealing with this right now and that would not have been so hard and probably would have helped the team

Lets try and get Cooks back before GB does. Houston just moved their RB and are moving on from Watson, who was probably a huge part of why he went there.... and word is he wants out now too...

1) He’s too expensive.
2) McVay already has enough WRs.
We were told VJ was the fastest player at the Senior Bowl and Atwell is supposed to be even faster.
McVay is supposed to be an offensive genius. An offensive genius would be able to use two very good and very fast receivers WHO ARE ALREADY ON THE ROSTER to fill in for a player he never should have brought in in the first place.

Why? So he can be the 4th receiver? He isn’t playing much with this teams top #3 still on roster.Rampager66 wrote: ↑October 29th, 2021, 9:04 pm Lets try and get Cooks back before GB does. Re: DeSean Wants Out
I’m confused where this all came from. I’m almost certain McVay clearly explained to DJax what his role would be this year. This has to be about ego, Jackson sees the offense is clicking and he wants a bigger piece of the pie and shine. Did he forget he hasn’t played a full season due to injury in how long?
Good riddance to this locker room cancer.

Hasn’t played in a playoff victory since 2009.
He could really be missing out.
But he’s got a track record of putting himself before team.

Re: DeSean Wants Out
How ironic Desean wants more snaps. The last few years, when he got more snaps, he got injured. Three years ago when he got more snaps in Tampa and managed to stay somewhat healthy he was upset because he didn't get thrown the ball enough.
