Bottom post of the previous page:
I am not defending Karty but was it his fault that the line let defenders through on almost every kick that went bad.
Historically kickers get cut or benched due to them just missing the kick most don't have a defender coming up the middle where a kicker has to kick around him. Not sure how fair it is to Karty.
Can you say confidence is shot sure, but to me the culprit is Blackburn. Every kick Karty misses usually has a defender breaking through the line.

Joshua Karty made 24 consecutive kicks (including extra points) in the 2024 season.
What changed? The protection.

No he didn’t.
His game log is right here

The longest perfect steak I counted was at the end of the season. Week 17/18 and Playoff week 1/2. He had 17 makes in a row.
He didn’t come close to 24 and most of his kicks last year were inside 50 yards

His timing looks off- probably because he's so shook at this point. It's up to the COACH to take that entire unit and practice and hold the stopwatch and get this to be automatic. If he just misses...then it's on the kicker. But to me, seems the whole unit sucks and Karty prob feels a block coming on EVERY snap. His coach needs him to just get him timing and kick it the same way every time no matter what the blockers do. I blame the ST unit and the ST coach until I see just random misses that are routine.

I stand corrected. That stat I posted was for Matt Gay (Google Ai)

Getting into weeds but Mevis is on PS. When do you activate him? Niners game? Or if not impressed by him in camp never and he will be released next couple of days weeks? If he is activated does someone else have to go down to PS?

An NFL team must activate a player from the practice squad before the game day inactive list is announced, which is 90 minutes before kickoff. A player can be elevated for a single game and automatically reverts to the practice squad afterward, and each player can be elevated up to three times a season before the team must sign them to the active roster for a fourth elevation..so it does give us some time to make a decision on him. But we are also traveling this week so its not ideal.

His eating habits. Same thing with heavier gymnastics ladies. Nevermind the obvious elite talent, fat, you're out trumps everything. It's slowly changing in gymnastics.
Interesting take, never looked at this way given the talent.
What i really meant to say here is that these fat athletes aren't taken seriously and are ignored despite obvious talent. Especially in positions historically filled by much smaller players/competitors. I.e. kickers or gymnasts.

Or even QB’s…
Jared Lorenzen. Played at Kentucky and was a star. Went on to NFL and played for Giants and Colts. Died young though… 38…. acute infection, complicated by heart and kidney problems
