Bottom post of the previous page:

TE rooms had lot of snap count....Allen had 51%, Parky 47%; Higs 37%; Ferg 49%

Crazy game for those guys. Lot of 12 and even 13 personnel. Good little blurb on Ramswire about it. Not the same old McVay in week 7.

Well said 71..Some of you "Fans" need to calm down..McVay had the Rams running 13 personnel at almost 40% of the time so our TE position was heavily involved in the game against the Jags. McVay is McVay and if you don't know by now what that means then you haven't been following the Rams..he doesn't just play a rookie because its a shiny new toy..they have to first and foremost earn McVay’s trust..and if you are on the Offensive side that means you'll need to block!..and not pick up those rookie penalties..That's why he continues to trust and play Higbee..he rarely gets the drive killing penalties and he's still is a good blocker and can move the chains!..It gets tiring on here..from a group always hearing McVay is terrible, he's stupid, he sucks and needs to go.

To be fair, McVay has almost never played 3 TE formation until this game. It's a great sign and again shows that he is the best coach out there (IMO). And yes, he does play rookies day 1 (Puka as example). I agree they have to earn his trust in knowing the playbook and impress upon him in practice/camp that they deserve to play. I always assume if a rookie is not playing- it's for a good reason. Injury, lack of playbook grasp, doggin it, etc. I will still argue that Ferg should be in there more than the other 3- assuming he knows the plays and has no injury. The other 3 are ok, just not playmakers- including Higbee this year. But I like all our TEs right now as they all have skills that we need. Some have more (Ferg);)

they talked about trading up to draft Bowers, the eventual Raiders TE IN THE FIRST ROUND TWO DRAFTS ago, would that guy have started. Seems like stupidity to me, wish we had that big cornerback on our team right now instead of a fourth string tight end
Ernest Jones didn't get his first start until week 8! And that was because we traded Young..Speights didn't start until week 8 and that was because of an injury!..Limmer only started week 1 because of an injury..yes there's been a few rookies who have started week 1 but mostly on the defensive side a few on offense but not many..there's a pattern here with Rookies and McVay and its mostly about earning his trust and the player having shown a work ethic before they get on the field under McVay. Guess what week we are in now?

Yes you're correct the 13 personnel had only been used by McVay in 3 games as a Rams Head Coach if I remember reading that correctly..so it is pretty rare for him to run it. But like you said McVay made changes to his play calling based on necessity more than anything else..but damn he has to be very pleased with his young players after this game. Ferguson has shown his play making talent in his limited role so far..but there's a reason why he is still number 3 in our TE room..he's just not as good of blocking TE as the rest of the room we have..He'll be starting soon enough.

Great points. Looking forward to seeing more of Ferguson.

I think everyone was shocked that Loveland went ahead of Warren.

We have the right to criticize, so screw anyone on here who has an issue with it. If he's not being used, nothing wrong with asking why. Y'all just want an echo chamber of mindless cheerleaders who eat nothing but shit on here and I refuse to be one.

To critique and or criticize is one thing..but the ridiculous amount of idiots who without fail are always running their mouths with the he's terrible, he's washed, he's gotta go, he's stupid without any rhythm or reason is the real echo chamber..there's a group who post nothing but complaints without much facts to back up their criticism or even have an educated opinion that's where it gets tiring and ridiculous..asking why a player isn't playing is fine..but some people can't or don't understand what goes on between game days on the practice field or in the film room. Some players just don't pick things up as fast as others. And some fan seem even slower to understand why McVay might not run out a certain player. You need to build up a little thicker skin and not think every negative post is directed towards you..👍

It doesn't bother me.
What would bother me is if Higs got hurt, and we actually needed him to play and he sucked.

I'm hoping that teams will be scouting the Rams based on what they did before the bye week, and the Rams will change the offense a little (add a new wrinkle) and get Ferguson more involved to keep things changing to keep other teams from getting a good read on what the Rams might do as the season moves forward.
...wow, that's sort of a long sentence. lol

We are past the bye week and I think we will start seeing him being used more. We have eased him in and I believe his time has come. With that being said, might there be another TE out there worth trading for?

Either a young up and comer like Kyle Pitts, Chig Okonkwo or David Njoku?

Or maybe someone who is nearing the end of their career but still serviceable like Mark Andrews or Darren Waller?

I'd prefer a younger guy but either could help this offense get over some of the redzone issues we are having.
