McVay : “ I love it - love exactly where we are”
What ? How can he even utter these words ? He loves exactly where his team is at ? I have heard enough coach speak in my days but this takes the cake. Loads of BS went down before, during and after this game for sure but this seems like an unhinged comment . I cannot see how but seemingly he thinks saying this benefits his team going forward after this epic choke is better than saying nothing at all.

Re: McVay : “ I love it - love exactly where we are”
I’m guessing he said this because of two reasons…
1. Wants the team to not fret and stay confident
2. And I think he knows how much better we play as the underdogs.

Hardly unhinged my friend JMHO - I will give credit where I think it is due - like here : He fired Chase B just now - long overdue.

I think is his pov was not about losing the Seahawks game it was that he feels we are at our best now. He knows that type of game won't happen again he also knows the Rams are the best in the NFC.

Looking back at that game the enormous importance of the game seems almost unfair - we topple far down the seeding list and face nothing but adverse weather conditions as a result of this debacle- seems to me no words can spin it in a positive fashion- Even greater hi lol to climb without Dotsen

Re: McVay : “ I love it - love exactly where we are”
So exactly how does Sean McVay know that, especially since it has already happened on several earlier occasions?
Dropping from the NFC's #1 playoff seed, as divisional champion, to its #5 seed, as a 'wild card' team, that's 'exactly' where I didn't want the Rams to be.
Our team now faces a much more difficult challenge during the postseason and everyone knows that, so it's totally foolish to claim otherwise.

Almost unfair?
Really?.
Only thing unfair about all this is that we kept the ST’s the same w same coach and haven’t drafted more quality DB help. And that’s not even unfair, it’s just pure stupidly and ignorance (hoping and hoping those two groups would do better the ‘next’ game).
We knew the schedule and locations. Nothing unfair about it. That’s the way the cookie crumbled, especially teams who keep beating themselves. We’re actually lucky ST’s and our D secondary hasn’t blown more games imo.
To me, ST should barely EVER be a factor in winnings game (besides field goals of course) but my point is, ST should never be a factor because of such over all poor play. Our DB group is about the worst there is in many games.
So we put ourselves right where we are. Unfair or not. We are who WE are, as WE beat ourselves.
I honestly believe and have no doubt, if we made the proper adjustments early in dealing w ST and firing that coach earlier AND also making the proper adjustments on Defense before the trade deadline, we would be 15-0 or 14-1 right now, maybe 13-2 at the worst.
Think about everyone of our losses. EVERY LOSS came down to one of these two groups. Every single loss imo

I dont agree that I like where we are. But I'll tell you this....after the devastating loss vs 9ers last game of regular season in 2021 giving up a seventeen point lead mcvay was pressed about the loss by reporters and Sean refused to give in saying they were moving on and preparing for the Cardinals.
Perhaps this is mcvays greatest strength turning the page.

Re: McVay : “ I love it - love exactly where we are”
It maybe safer to say the construction of the roster & coaching staff led this Rams team to the exact place we are in . Many pundits felt DB & ST would be our undoing. Draft, FA and trade decisions made by our FO brought us right here : WC team with a long difficult hill to climb. There is plenty of empirical data out there on our chances to succeed from here so the rest is just frustrating talk .

Re: McVay : “ I love it - love exactly where we are”
Exactly. What really pisses me off is that we didn’t need much to be 14–1 right now. All that was needed was to fire that idiot in the offseason (or even at the beginning of this season). That alone would have given us a decent special teams unit, and then actively pursuing a solid CB before the trade deadline. That’s it. That’s all we needed.DelMar wrote: ↑Yesterday, 3:01 pmRonMac wrote: ↑Yesterday, 12:58 pm Looking back at that game the enormous importance of the game seems almost unfair - we topple far down the seeding list and face nothing but adverse weather conditions as a result of this debacle- seems to me no words can spin it in a positive fashion- Even greater hi lol to climb without Dotsen

Instead, they chose to stand still and keep insisting on the guys they already had. They chose to believe Forbes, Durant, and Akhello would improve. They chose to believe Chase would fix all the special teams issues.
Sometimes the truth is right in front of your face, but you choose to see it differently. People running a billion-dollar organization shouldn’t allow themselves to make mistakes like that.

Re: McVay : “ I love it - love exactly where we are”
WE all know it's BS.
But the players feed off of him so he can't say "Well we had first seed, home field throughout the playoffs and a first round bye to get everyone healthy, but we blew it". So he says whatever sounds good to keep the team fighting.
I too get frustrated when I hear this kind of bullshit but in reality he's trying to be the best leader he can possibly be given the position they have put themselves in.
