Should the Rams Cut Ties with Emmanuel Forbes Jr.?
In yesterday’s game against the Carolina Panthers, Emmanuel Forbes Jr, was exposed as the same player he was in Washington. The former first-round pick who joined the Rams off waivers in December 2024 after a disastrous stint with the Commanders. Once hailed as a ball-hawking phenom from Mississippi State, Forbes has shown flashes of potential in 2025—but his glaring deficiencies, culminating in a nightmare performance against the Carolina Panthers on November 30, 2025, underscore why the Rams should seriously consider dumping him before he drags their playoff aspirations down.

Absolutely not. Again have we forgot what was being said about him in here just 72 hours ago? Fact is he had a hell of a good previous month. We were just saying last week another great addition by Snead. Now we are “petitioning” to cut him?……….

Re: Should the Rams Cut Ties with Emmanuel Forbes Jr.?
Why?
You can just play him less in the rotation
The decision whether to move on from him or not should be made during offseason

I am tossing this question out for debate. Me? I would certainly start seeing what Roger McCreary could do in the rotation.

I can tolerate a lot of things. Lack of effort is not one of those things. To me yesterday, he looked disinterested… that whiff on the tackle when Young gained 30 yards was pathetic.

On a serious note. should he be cut? Prob not, because hes had some good games... but yesterday performance cannot happen again. Like Cornell said, play him less... he needs to realize what he did yesterday and the lack of effort and getting beat CONSTANTLY is not ok, and if he wants to remain in the pros, he needs to knock it off.
Seriously, the memes, the sports talk radio, etc etc.. ALL Saw it... and no one has an answer for his play. It was downright inexcusable. Forbes literally handed the win to Carolina yesterday, along w some Stafford help.

Talk about overreaction Monday. Yikes. Let's maybe look at the season body of work when all is said and done. Tough day at the office yesterday.

Re: Should the Rams Cut Ties with Emmanuel Forbes Jr.?
I would not cut him. As bad as he was yesterday he tore Tampa a new one. He is mixed goods right now and we really can't afford to toss CB's out just now. However, like you I would like to see McCreary get in the mix, perhaps as slot corner. He is what Forbes is not PHYSICAL. He hits he wraps and bring people down. That is a novel skill set among our corners. We should also target another physical cover corner in the draft

Re: Should the Rams Cut Ties with Emmanuel Forbes Jr.?
Agree.
I think he's a quality starter. He's still young, and is actually sticky in coverage. He does get burned from time to time. I thought that the Panters ran the ball so much that Forbes got board and lost focus...and then got burnt.
I still think he'll get better and better.

Re: Should the Rams Cut Ties with Emmanuel Forbes Jr.?
I think we need him for sure this year. What happens when/if Durant or DWILL gets hurt? Akello ? Besides that, I still think he's a work in progress and could potentially be part of the team next year, but that would mean he has to be better. As a whole, our DBs seem weak. Nobody here(I think) will argue that we need to draft CB early. Getting the right mix in there on a consistent basis is important. These guys gotta communicate all day or someone gets burned. This is where a good DC comes in.

Re: Should the Rams Cut Ties with Emmanuel Forbes Jr.?
So question, I would just like to know……..
How does one determine if a player is lacking effort and is disinterested from their recliner?……..
I would think if a player was actually lacking effort they would be pulled from the game………..
I for one see CB’s whiff on tackles every Sunday in every game that I watch……….
Again he had a bad game Sunday. He isn’t the first and won’t be the last. The rest of this critique……..

Re: Should the Rams Cut Ties with Emmanuel Forbes Jr.?
When you barely attempt a tackle when the running back is RIGHT in front of you , that is how . When you basically sit on the grass instead of going hard for the running back's legs.NorCal RF wrote: ↑December 2nd, 2025, 8:47 am So question, I would just like to know……..

Re: Should the Rams Cut Ties with Emmanuel Forbes Jr.?
I will add this……..
I was that fan from my home mad as hell that I felt what I was seeing was the definition of not caring and not giving effort. The not caring part I was no more so with Isaac Bruce when he was not in the game and standing way off from everyone else on sidelines. Then………
I worked the Rams sidelines multiple times n saw n heard exactly why he stood where he did when not in the game. My opinion from my living room could not have been more wrong and that included other players I felt were not giving effort from afar………..
JMO but I think at times we forget this is their livelihood and they actually do give a damn. Actually a lot……..

Well Marcus Peters never made an effort to tackle...so there's that. Still hate the way he played for us....

Re: Should the Rams Cut Ties with Emmanuel Forbes Jr.?
I think what killed it for him was he was such a head case drama queen... As we all well know, '71... Rams culture is all about we not me...
Marcus was a me player... and it got old.
His attitude and lack of tackling and also giving up mid plays, didnt reflect his huge pay check imo.

No doubt he played like crap on Sunday. To question that IMO would be ridiculous. But my critique of him last Sunday starts and stops there. I for one won’t question a players effort or interest to play from a far…….
Good back n forth……..

When it comes to goobers, there really is only one, and he is iconic. But he’s not the only Pyle. (Sorry. This should be in off-topic.)
Hoping for good Forbes and great D all around tomorrow! I’m considering the remaining five games as intense auditions.

I agree to a point. If he gets torched tomorrow, then we should at least bench him.
Cant afford to have him play as he did last weekend.
