Paying good money to go to Candlestick in 1989 to sit through an absolute drubbing and watching with my own eyes through binoculars the phantom sack. I just turned to my brother and said, "he wasn't touched". After the game a 49er fan who had stormed the field came up to me and gave me a chunk of the field turf that he had dug up and said 'here is some of the dirt and grass you guys were eating all day'. I took that soil and grass with red painting and planted it in a pot which I kept it for years as a bitter reminder... :x - 2 Been thanked

April 21st, 2025, 6:10 am Re: Updated Uni/Helmet for 2025? April 21st, 2025, 6:10 am Re: Updated Uni/Helmet for 2025?
Ever been to a game at Sofi and noticed the Fans wearing the new swag?
There’s a shit ton of them wearing it
There’s also a shit ton of them wearing every other iteration of LA Ram swag of all the era
You guys are the old men on your porches screaming “ get off my lawn”
Adapt or die
With all due respect (which is to say, none :P ), if a uni looks good, it looks good. The current unis don't look particularly good compared to uniforms of other eras. The older unis look classic and tough. They pay respect to the older Rams greats. They just look good.
The newer unis just look...weak. They make the team look soft. JMO - 2 Been thanked

Gilbert Manzano on si.com is a good writer. Always had Rams top 3 but not as bullish on them as others. Says verse has had a disappointing sophomore year.
Maybe read too many of his press clippings? Because there was a lot of hype about him after postseason. - 2 Been thanked

December 20th, 2025, 9:36 pm Re: Are The Officials Really Stupid or Corrupt? December 20th, 2025, 9:36 pm Re: Are The Officials Really Stupid or Corrupt?
My retort is that the Rams are a semi one dimensional team. It is not the STs, Refs, or defense that will drive the Rams into the playoffs. The offense is the driving force. If the offense falters it doesn't matter who are special teams coach is, or field goal kicker, or if our edge rushers are not pressuring the opposing QB, we are doomed.
No argument there except to say the Offense didn't falter. They answered both times the Hags took the lead at 7-0 and 14-13. They never let us trail for long. They never got a chance to answer in OT.
Again bro, 585 yards, 37 points, 30 - 1st Downs, No TO's, No Sacks,
4 ST's Punts avg. 38.8 yards.
We are not doomed bro. I see you are still pissed about the game. Most of your posts today have an edge I don't see from you much... Me too but we move on. Again, good thing it happened before the sudden death playoffs and something has been done about it. Whether or not it fix's it remains to be seen.
I sensed NorCal was really stressing his concerns about the Defenses play lately and going forward in his weekly post game thread. AFAIC, he's absolutely correct. They have looked horrible 3 of the last 4 games and imo got fat statistically early in the season against bad O's - Titans, Saints and teams with key people out, SF, Ravens, Texans....Even including their decent showing against the Cards in the 45-17 blow out win, they have surrendered 120 points the last 4 games... that's a concern when you consider most of the good D's usually are in and go deep into the playoffs and the 30 and 40 point games we've been enjoying become rarer. That's when you need to play defense....
Like Nor-Cal, I remain skeptical on Shula and his unit remains my biggest concern. - 2 Been thanked

I agree with this whole post. Enough. No excuses. You are as good as your record. We gotta win and stop beating ourselves. • Rams' three points allowed yesterday were their fewest in a road game since 2014.
• The Rams' three caused turnovers added a combined 30.6% to the Rams' win probability.
• Matthew Stafford was pressured on just 13.8% of his dropbacks, his second-lowest pressure rate faced in a game since 2018.(Kudos the the OL)
• Outside linebacker Jared Verse and Byron Young combined for 14 quarterback pressures (thata boyz)
• More than half of Stafford's passing yards and his only touchdown came in the third quarter (Now hes down to just one fire qtrs 😂) - 2 Been thanked

October 14th, 2025, 9:03 am Re: Rams vs Ravens Game Thread October 14th, 2025, 9:03 am Re: Rams vs Ravens Game Thread
Oh, you'll make it. I'd like to see Rams vs. Lions in the NFC championship. I'm surrounded by obnoxious Eagles fans (yes, that's redundant), so the sooner they're out, the better.
Me too… so we can finally put this Goff vs Stafford thing to bed finally.
In Detroit. If we get some payback at their house from the last 2 games and go to the Super Bowl? They would be openly asking if Stafford would have gotten them over the top. Right now it's a win-win trade but Goff needs that ring. An NFCCG featuring Stafford vs. Goff for the Super Bowl would be epic.
Ideal playoff scenario. Beat SF at SoFi who somehow limp into the playoffs. Beat Philly in front of those a-hole fans, beat Detroit in the Stafford-Goff Bowl, beat the Chiefs to send their dynasty spiraling. - 2 Been thanked

May 5th, 2025, 4:36 pm Re: Rams Cap Space 2026 May 5th, 2025, 4:36 pm Re: Rams Cap Space 2026
Rams have 2025 commitments of $47.6 million to Stafford, $22 million for Adams and Atwell, and $17.9 million to Kevin Dotson. The Rams also have $50 million in dead cap, according to Spotrac.com, an amount due to the departures of players like Cooper Kupp and Jonah Jackson.
Thus, the Rams have $20.7 million in cap space. The Rams still need to sign their 2025 NFL Draft class.
Believe it or not, the Rams are still paying off Aaron Donald's deal as the future Hall of Famer enters his second year of retirement at $9 million against the cap. Kupp has a dead cap hit of $22 million, Joe Noteboom has one of $10 million, and Jonah Jackson is the other big expense at $8.5 million. (I swear, even w NoteDoom gone, he's still hurting us!)
The good news for our Rams is that we have the smallest draft pool in the NFL. That means they'll have the cheapest rookie class at $6.7 million, according to Over the Cap. Several things helped achieve the cheap new players.
Trading away the 26th overall selection played a big role, and not selecting a quarterback did as well.
The Rams also drafted only six players after using picks to trade up twice.
*If Darious Williams is moved off of the Rams, the Rams cap space goes up to about $19 million.
So, do we cut DW and then sign Ramsey? For me, I'd much rather sign Asante Samuel Jr. (from the Chargers, dude is good and only 25) - 2 Been thanked

I never understood the love for Higbee. He'll make a great catch like the one hander yesterday and then follow it up with a series of drops on passes that hit him in his hands, usually drive killers. I don't think age or injuries have anything to do with it, he's always done this. - 2 Been thanked

I agree 100%. They had a stadium in the gas light district which if you don't know is literally about five blocks of bars (throw in a book store or clothing store why don't you).. Outdoors on the bay. How do you not make that work.
Let me correct my own error. I am thinking of Petco field, where Padres play. Never understood why chargers didn't play there.
The Chargers could not play at Petco Park because of a "no football" clause written into the Padres' contract with the city for their new baseball stadium. The Padres did not want to repeat the experience of sharing a multi-purpose stadium, and the clause was a key detail in the development deal. I don't blame the Padres at all for not sharing a stadium with a football team. There are no major league baseball teams that share their stadium with a football team..that ended when the Raiders left Oakland..it just doesn't work..fans get a crappie experience and I'm sure NFL football players never liked playing on dirt. - 2 Been thanked

Great write up and 100% concur.
I think some people are overlooking this Defense. Shula is now in his prime as a coach, as it's taken him a bit longer to get where he is, it also has to be a heavy weight having the last name Shula... some big shoes to fill... but Shula has now proven imo, he is his own man and will make his own mark.
Chris has full control and has built a solid D that hes been wanting for a few years imo. Although I do have some MINOR reservations w our DB's, I think they will do fine. When you have a DL like we do now, that is able to stuff the runs and makes life stressful for any opposing QB, I think not having an Elite DB group is ok. So hopefully our DB wont be the first ones making the tackle on run plays like in season past. Our DL needs to stuff the box, then our LB crew HAS TO be the tacklers.
In all honesty, I cannot WAIT to play the Lions this year, as we know how Jared works, pressure does not bode well for Goff (Sorry Hellram). This DL and LB crew is going to be hungry, as we let that last two Lions games slip through our fingers. Not this season.
I cannot wait to see this DL cook this season.
I actually like our first 4 games schedule. Texans will be a GREAT test, can we stop the mobile QB? We shall see, then off to TENN, as this game we can try some new things imo, then its the game of games for us, @ Phly... (unfortunately thats an early game for us westerners), but this game will be a great test, and since its so early in season, if we fall flat, we will have ample time to turn things around. Then our 4th game @ home w the Colts, thats a great game to play after Phly (sorry colts).
Again, great write up in showing what some of us have been seeing... IMO, it's taken 2 seasons to get to this point, and we are exactly where I had hoped to be. We rebounded, flushed out the cancers and now truly have a solid WE and not ME team.
LETS GO RAMS BABY!!! I CANNOT WAIT!!! ... 2 WEEKS TO see how our backups look, then 5 weeks till kick off... I am actually so pumped up right now, I am debating to run through a wall and chew off a birds head (in ode to Oz of course)

Nothing like the beignets from New Orleans. I actually went to Cafe Du Monde one time but the line was so long we ended up getting them from another place. A friend of mine who lives there told us the best place to get them was a little Chinese restaurant. We weren't disappointed.
If you can't make it to New Orleans for the beignets, the little donuts they sell at Olive Garden are a pretty good option. - 2 Been thanked

August 9th, 2025, 11:52 am Re: Rams star Jared Verse left practice with knee injury August 9th, 2025, 11:52 am Re: Rams star Jared Verse left practice with knee injury
My frustration is with the system and the extremes that have become norms. The numbers—be they for players (Deshaun Watson?), owners, actors, CEO’s, and others—can be insane.
Indeed! I'm against any group of people being overwhelmingly overpaid, which unfortunately is quite common in American society.
When an NFL player who has already made $150-200 million in his career insists that "I'm doing this for my family," upon demanding $50+ million a year, I'm not exactly thinking, 'Of course you are.'
I also reject the concept that asking a player making $55 million a year to take a modest pay cut is comparable to asking a working-class person making $18 an hour to take one.
It's called massive, overpowering greed... :x
